La finale des championnats d’Europe 65 et 85cc se disputait ce week-end dans le cadre du 12ème GP de la saison en Lettonie. Un seul pilote belge au départ dans le sable de Kegums : Liam Everts. Auteur d’une série qualificative dans laquelle il a fait preuve d’une belle régularité quelles que soient les conditions rencontrées, notre jeune compatriote a confirmé ce week-end en prenant la 5ème place du classement final d’un championnat européen très relevé.

Dans la première manche le samedi, Liam terminait à quelques dixièmes de seconde du podium après une manche régulière derrière 3 pilotes hollandais.

La hiérarchie a été quelque peu bousculée ce dimanche puisque le leaders du samedi prenaient tous des départs en milieu de peloton, laissant les Tchèques Martin Venhoda et Radek Vetrovski dominer la course. En 6 tours à peine, Liam Everts remontera jusqu’en 7ème position, juste derrière Kay Karssemakers, vainqueur de la première manche le samedi et finalement second du classement final derrière son compatriote Scott Smulders, le plus régulier à Kegums avec une 2ème puis une 4ème places dans les manches.

Le Tchèque Martin Venhoda et le Russe Matvey Vopilov devancent ensuite Liam Everts qui complète donc le top-5 final de ce championnat européen 65cc 2015. Belle entrée en matière pour notre tout jeune compatriote !

En 85cc, le titre européen revient également à un pilote hollandais. Second le samedi avant de profiter dimanche de l’abandon de son compatriote Rick Elzinga pour s’imposer, c’est en effet Ravio Dankers qui coiffe la couronne européenne devant le Danois Bastian Boegh Damm et un autre Hollandais, Brian van der Klij.
