Thomas Covington et Jorge Prado se sont partagé les victoires ce dimanche à Saint-Jean-d’Angély. L’Américain et l’Espagnol terminent ex-aequo au général mais c’est Prado qui inscrit une nouvelle victoire à son palmarès. Thomas Kjer Olsen monte sur la 3ème marche du podium.
Pour Jorge Prado, ce GP de France est plutôt une bonne opération. Le pilote KTM reprend en effet 12 points à son chef de file Pauls Jonass, 4ème puis 6ème seulement dans les manches. Le champion du monde MX2 en titre est toujours en tête du championnat mais voit son avantage se réduire à 16 unités alors que le championnat entre dans sa seconde moitié. Prado n’a certainement pas dit son dernier mot !
Côté belge, on se réjouit de la brillante prestation de Jago Geerts. Remonté de la 9ème à la 5ème place en première manche, le pilote Yamaha Kemea a roulé à une superbe seconde position durant toute la deuxième manche. Il passe tout près de son deuxième podium en GP, à deux points de la 3ème place de Thomas Kjer Olsen. Pauls Jonass complète quant à lui le top-5.
