SuperMotocross : Chase Sexton s’offre le premier round

Pour la toute première fois, on dispute aux USA le nouveau mini-championnat d’après-saison baptisé SuperMotocross. Des play-offs disputés sur 3 rounds en 3 semaines consécutives. Le premier se tenait ce week-end à Charlotte.

Chase Sexton s’y est offert un doublé autoritaire. Dominé par son coéquipier Jett Lawrence durant toute la saison outdoor, le champion Supercross en titre renoue avec le succès à Charlotte. Il s’impose devant Ken Roczen (3+3) et Dylan Ferrandis (2+4). Le récent champion outdoor dans la catégorie reine Jett Lawrence (7+2) termine au pied du podium en devançant Jason Anderson, Aaron Plessinger, Justin Barcia et Cooper Webb, ce dernier effectuant à Charlotte sa première sortie au guidon de la Yamaha du team Star Racing.

En 250, c’est Jo Shimoda (4+1) qui s’est imposé. Le pilote Kawasaki devance Tom Vialle (3+2) et Haiden Deegan (1+5). Hunter Lawrence (9+7) termine au 8ème rang.

La semaine prochaine, le second play-off aura lieu à Chicago alors que la grande finale de la saison US se disputera le week-end suivant à Los Angeles.
