Cyril Genot a remplac\u00e9 Jeremy Van Horebeek au pied lev\u00e9 le week-end pass\u00e9 sur le Motocross des Nations. Dans le sable de Mantova, le Limbourgeois ne s’est pas content\u00e9 de \u00ab\u00a0faire du d\u00e9pannage\u00a0\u00bb, bien au contraire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

La saison 2021 a \u00e9t\u00e9 riche en moments forts pour Cyril Genot. Le pilote Sarholz KTM a en effet remport\u00e9 sa premi\u00e8re \u00e9preuve ADAC MX Masters il y a quelques semaines, est rest\u00e9 en lice pour le titre allemand jusqu’\u00e0 la finale du championnat et vient de signer une belle prestation sur le MX des Nations le week-end pass\u00e9 \u00e0 Mantova. Il s’est qualifi\u00e9 13e dans la classe MXGP le samedi avant de terminer 6\u00e8me dans la boue de la premi\u00e8re manche le dimanche. Malheureusement, des ennuis m\u00e9caniques ne lui ont pas permis de r\u00e9\u00e9diter son exploit dans la 3\u00e8me manche.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Lorsque Johan Boonen m’a propos\u00e9 de remplacer J\u00e9r\u00e9my van Horebeek, c\u00e9tait une grande surprise ! Apr\u00e8s la fin de la saison ADAC, j’\u00e9tais encore en pleine recherche de mes prochains objectifs\u00a0\u00bb, explique Genot. \u00ab\u00a0Heureusement, le coup de t\u00e9l\u00e9phone est arriv\u00e9. Quand j’ai raccroch\u00e9, j’avais encore exactement une semaine et demie pour me pr\u00e9parer pour les Nations !\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0L’ambiance autour de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement est formidable. Tout est sp\u00e9cial, y compris la conf\u00e9rence de presse et la pr\u00e9sentation de l’\u00e9quipe en amont. C’est merveilleux de pouvoir vivre tout cela. J’ai beaucoup aim\u00e9 et d\u00e9fendre les couleurs belges sur un \u00e9v\u00e9nement aussi important. J’\u00e9tais tr\u00e8s motiv\u00e9 !\u00a0\u00bb, commente le pilote KTM. \u00ab\u00a0La piste de Mantova n’est pas aussi sablonneuse qu’on ne le dit souvent. Le samedi, elle \u00e9tait plut\u00f4t dure. Le dimanche, c’\u00e9tait diff\u00e9rent \u00e0 cause de la pluie. \u00c0 chaque s\u00e9ance, je me sentais de mieux en mieux sur la piste et cela m’a donn\u00e9 beaucoup de confiance.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Apr\u00e8s une bonne premi\u00e8re manche, ma seconde manche s’est beaucoup moins bien d\u00e9roul\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb, analyse Genot. \u00ab\u00a0J’ai fait une erreur regrettable en revenant dans le top 10, mon genou a heurt\u00e9 le levier d’embrayage et s’est bris\u00e9. Rouler dans cette boue sans levier d’embrayage n’\u00e9tait tout simplement pas possible. Bien s\u00fbr, la frustration est \u00e9norme car nous avions l’opportunit\u00e9 de monter sur le podium. Une chose sur laquelle personne n’aurait os\u00e9 parier avant la course.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Au final, ce fut un week-end r\u00e9ussi pour moi, les probl\u00e8mes m\u00e9caniques font partie du sport. Je tiens \u00e0 remercier tous ceux qui ont rendu cela possible.
