La saison 2022 du championnat outdoor US s’est referm\u00e9e ce samedi sur le Fox Raceway de Pala, en Californie. Une finale disput\u00e9e sous la canicule et sur laquelle les deux leaders du classement provisoire de la cat\u00e9gorie reine arrivaient s\u00e9par\u00e9s d’un point seulement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Au terme de deux manches particuli\u00e8rement disput\u00e9es entre Eli Tomac et Chase Sexton, c’est le pilote Yamaha qui s’est offert un nouveau doubl\u00e9, s’assurant ainsi d’un 4\u00e8me titre outdoor US en 450. Le dernier datait de 2019. Tomac signe ainsi un doubl\u00e9 SX\/MX qui fait de lui incontestablement l’homme fort de la saison 2022 outre-Atlantique.<\/p>\n

Tomac et Sexton ont tr\u00e8s largement domin\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re manche, rel\u00e9guant dans leur duel en t\u00eate de la course leur plus proche poursuivant, Christian Craig, \u00e0 plus d’une minute et 15 secondes. La seconde a \u00e9t\u00e9 plus ind\u00e9cise avec un mauvais d\u00e9part de Tomac puis une sortie de piste de Sexton qui l’a contraint \u00e0 repartir juste derri\u00e8re la Yamaha num\u00e9ro 3.<\/p>\n

En 250, Jett Lawrence n’avait pas la m\u00eame pression. Confortablement install\u00e9 en t\u00eate du championnat, l’Australien pouvait assurer face \u00e0 Jo Shimoda, qui remporte la derni\u00e8re manche de la saison, pour cueillir son second titre cons\u00e9cutif dans la cat\u00e9gorie. Lawrence (1+2) remporte malgr\u00e9 tout la derni\u00e8re \u00e9preuve devant son dauphin au championnat Shimoda (4+1).<\/p>\n

Pour pr\u00e9parer le Motocross des Nations qu’il disputera en MX2 au sein du team fran\u00e7ais, Marvin Musquin s’est align\u00e9 comme annonc\u00e9 en 250cc \u00e0 Pala. Cinqui\u00e8me puis neuvi\u00e8me dans les manches, le pilote KTM termine la journ\u00e9e au 7\u00e8me rang.<\/p>\n
