La 6\u00e8me des 8 manches du Maxxis WEC 2008 se d\u00e9roulait ce week-end dans la poussi\u00e8re d’Uzerche, en France. Devant leur public, les pilotes fran\u00e7ais ont à nouveau sign\u00e9 de bons r\u00e9sultats. Avec 2 seconde places en E2, Johnny Aubert fait un pas de plus vers un premier titre mondial, tandis que c’est son compatriote Micha\u00ebl Pichon qui s’impose le premier jour.
\nEn E3, S\u00e9bastien Guillaume et Christophe Namotin se sont partag\u00e9 les victoires, tandis que l’Espagnol Ivan Cervantes dominait les 2 journ\u00e9es en E1. Dans cette cat\u00e9gorie, on notera l’excellent comportement de notre compatriote Kevin Gauniaux, 13\u00e8me le dimanche.<\/p>\n

Le double champion du monde de motocross Micha\u00ebl Pichon avait annonc\u00e9 que le GP d’Uzerche serait sa seule apparition de la saison dans le Maxxis WEC. Mais le Fran\u00e7ais a tenu à marquer le week-end de son empreinte en remportant de justesse la premi\u00e8re journ\u00e9e en E2 devant son compatriote Johnny Aubert et le Finlandais Juha Salminen.
\n\u00ab\u00a0C’\u00e9tait aujourd’hui ou jamais car, physiquement, je ne peux pas suivre sur 2 jours de course\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9clarait Pichon le samedi soir.<\/p>\n

Il est vrai que le lendemain, le pilote KTM n’a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de r\u00e9\u00e9diter son exploit et a d\u00e0\u00bb laisser Aubert et Salminen s’expliquer seuls. Le pilote Yamaha, qui pense de plus en plus s\u00e9rieusement à un premier titre mondial, n’a pas pris de risques inutiles et se contente de terminer à pr\u00e8s de 55 secondes de son rival.
\nD\u00e9jà 4\u00e8me le samedi, c’est Antoine M\u00e9o qui profite cette fois de l’abandon de Pichon (\u00e9puis\u00e9) juste avant les 3 derni\u00e8res sp\u00e9ciales pour monter sur la 3\u00e8me marche du podium.<\/p>\n

\nPremiers points mondiaux pour Kevin Gauniaux en Enduro 1!<\/strong><\/p>\n

En Enduro 1, Ivan Cervantes remporte les 2 journ\u00e9es devant Mika Ahola et conforte ainsi son avantage au championnat sur le Finlandais, qui s’\u00e9l\u00e8ve d\u00e9sormais à 9 points.
\nMais en E1, on a surtout suvi avec attention l’\u00e9volution de notre compatriote Kevin Gauniaux, venu en France pour s’essayer en WEC. Mal à l’aise le samedi, le Vervi\u00e9tois pr\u00e9f\u00e9rait renoncer à mi-journ\u00e9e afin de se concentrer sur la course du lendemain. Un choix judicieux pour le pilote KTM puisqu’il rentrait ainsi à 4 reprises parmi les 10 premiers au terme des 12 sp\u00e9ciales du jour pour se classer finalement à une encourageante 13\u00e8me place. Et empocher par la m\u00eame occasion ses premiers points mondiaux!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Comme la semaine pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, les Fran\u00e7ais Christophe Nambotin et S\u00e9bastien Guillaume sont les hommes en forme dans la cat\u00e9gorie E3. Le samedi, Nambotin l’emporte pour moins de 4 secondes gr\u00e0\u00a2ce à une chute de Guillaume dans l’Extr\u00eame Test, alors que Merriman compl\u00e8te le podium devant Samuli Aro, le leader du championnat, toujours handicap\u00e9 par un doigt fragile.<\/p>\n

Le lendemain, Guillaume ne commettait plus d’erreur. Il prenait un petit avantage d\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res sp\u00e9ciales et se contentait ensuite de le g\u00e9rer pour s’imposer devant Tarkkala et Merriman. Quant à Christophe Nambotin, il a effectu\u00e9 une belle remont\u00e9e (en remportant notamment 3 sp\u00e9ciales) apr\u00e8s avoir chut\u00e9 en d\u00e9but de journ\u00e9e mais a ensuite tout perdu à cause d’un c\u00e0\u00a2ble à gaz d\u00e9croch\u00e9 dans l’avant-derni\u00e8re sp\u00e9ciale…<\/p>\n
