Notre compatriote devance les deux pilotes officiels de Yamaha Dragon Tek, Milko Potisek et Todd Kellett. Victime d&rsquo;une chute alors qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait en t\u00eate, Cyril Genot, leader du championnat avant cette \u00e9tape, termine 4\u00e8me d&rsquo;une course \u00e9court\u00e9e de 30 minutes \u00e0 cause de conditions de course difficiles et conserve sa place de leader au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Son co\u00e9quipier chez Honda SR Motoblouz Lars Van Berkel compl\u00e8te le top 5.<\/strong> <strong>Pr\u00e8s de 300 pilotes ont pris le d\u00e9part. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cC\u2019est une \u00e9norme victoire pour moi, explique Yentel Martens juste apr\u00e8s l\u2019arriv\u00e9e. La semaine derni\u00e8re \u00e0 Hossegor, je suis tomb\u00e9 lourdement alors que j\u2019\u00e9tais en bagarre pour la victoire et j\u2019ai pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 arr\u00eater. Aujourd\u2019hui j\u2019ai senti que j&rsquo;\u00e9tais bien et je je n\u2019ai rien l\u00e2ch\u00e9.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Il en aura fallu du temps avant que le grand Yentel, le fils de l\u2019ancien champion du monde Jacky Martens, ne s\u2019impose lors d\u2019une \u00e9preuve d\u2019endurance du CFS. Jusqu\u2019ici, il n\u2019\u00e9tait mont\u00e9 qu\u2019une fois tout en haut du podium, lors du Beach Cross de Berck, dans un format type moto-cross. Sur la piste sableuse mais humide de Saint-L\u00e9ger ce dimanche, Yentel Martens a laiss\u00e9 \u00e0 deux de ses compatriotes le soin de prendre le meilleur d\u00e9part.<\/p>\n<p>Au premier virage, la KTM de Matt\u00e9o Puffet prenait les commandes, juste devant Cyril Genot. On retrouve les deux pilotes dans un ordre diff\u00e9rent lors du premier passage sous le portique d\u2019arriv\u00e9e, o\u00f9 Yentel Martens commence \u00e0 pointer son nez. Potisek et Kellett ne sont pas loin, tout comme les fr\u00e8res Miot. Mais au bout de 40 minutes, Cyril Genot chute lourdement et rentre au stand en grima\u00e7ant pour son premier ravitaillemment.<\/p>\n<p>Yentel Martens a d\u00e9j\u00e0 pris les commandes pour quelques secondes et ne la quittera plus. Todd Kellett de son c\u00f4t\u00e9 est victime d\u2019un probl\u00e8me m\u00e9canique et d\u2019un d\u00e9but de course o\u00f9 il a accumul\u00e9 les chutes. On n\u2019a pas encore retrouv\u00e9 le Kellett qui survolait le championnat l\u2019an dernier. Sa chute \u00e0 Berck est encore dans son esprit. Milko Potisek, de son c\u00f4t\u00e9 a fait preuve d\u2019une \u00e9norme force de caract\u00e8re alors que depuis vendredi son p\u00e8re est confront\u00e9 \u00e0 de tr\u00e8s graves probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9. Le nordiste se montre le plus rapide sur la fin de course, mais pas assez pour revenir sur Yentel Martens, d\u2019autant plus que la direction de course prend la d\u00e9cision, alors qu\u2019il reste 45 minutes, d\u2019apposer le panneau 1 tour au moment du passage du leader.<\/p>\n<p>Concr\u00e8tement, Yentel Martens apprend alors qu\u2019il ne lui reste qu\u2019un dernier tour avant de s\u2019imposer. M\u00eame s\u2019il doit repasser aux stands, il franchit la ligne d\u2019arriv\u00e9e avec plus de 50 secondes d\u2019avance sur Potisek et 2\u201918 sur Kellett. Chez les f\u00e9minines, Amandine Verstappen (Yamaha) remporte sa 5\u00e8me victoire de la saison.<\/p>\n<p>Les autres vainqueurs du week-end sont David Herbreteau (Honda), en vintage, Tylan Lagain (Yamaha) chez les Espoirs et le N\u00e9erlandais Damien Knuiman (KTM), chez les Juniors. Chez les Quads, Randy Naveaux (Yamaha) signe sa 5eme victoire de suite cette saison. Le Belge survole la cat\u00e9gorie pour le moment et peut se targuer d\u2019avoir remport\u00e9 les 7 courses de sable disput\u00e9es en 2023, si l\u2019on ajoute la Gurp TT et l\u2019Enduropale du Touquet disput\u00e9s en d\u00e9but d\u2019ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>A Saint-L\u00e9ger, il devance le Norv\u00e9gien Christopher Tveraen et J\u00e9r\u00e9my Forestier. Le championnat de France des Sables 3AS Racing fait une pause d\u2019un mois d\u00e9sormais. La 6\u00e8me et avant derni\u00e8re manche de la saison aura lieu \u00e0 Grayan et L\u2019H\u00f4pital, dans le M\u00e9doc, avec la Gurp TT les 13 et 14 janvier 2024.
