Le quintuple champion du monde de motocross remplacera Harry Norton, lequel avait repris la direction de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9part d&rsquo;Antonio Cairoli chez Ducati.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A 55 ans, Smets reste un \u00e9l\u00e9ment central de la structure du Red Bull KTM. Il a remport\u00e9 ses deux derniers titres mondiaux au guidon d&rsquo;une KTM et depuis 2015, il fait partie de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe en tant que manager, supervisant les aspects de la pr\u00e9paration des pilotes. Son impact a \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9rable et le meilleur exemple en est certainement son travail avec Tom Vialle et Andrea Adamo, aidant le Fran\u00e7ais et l&rsquo;Italien \u00e0 passer du statut de pilotes prometteurs \u00e0 celui de champions du monde. Il a \u00e9galement jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le important dans le d\u00e9veloppement du champion du double monde MXGP Jorge Prado. En tant que pilote et en tant que manager, cela fait maintenant plus de vingt ans !
