Todd Kellett a remport\u00e9 son deuxi\u00e8me titre cons\u00e9cutif sur la Coupe du Monde FIM des Courses sur Sable dans la cat\u00e9gorie Moto en s\u2019imposant lors de la deuxi\u00e8me journ\u00e9e de la Monte Gordo Sand Race, cinqui\u00e8me et avant-derni\u00e8re manche de la saison. Cette victoire lui permet de d\u00e9crocher la victoire du week-end, de conserver son score maximal au classement et de s\u2019assurer une avance d\u00e9cisive avant la finale d’Hossegor.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans la cat\u00e9gorie Quad, la bataille pour le titre reste ouverte. Keveen Rochereau \u2013 Honda, vainqueur pour la troisi\u00e8me fois cons\u00e9cutive ce week-end, r\u00e9duit son \u00e9cart avec le leader du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Pablo Violet \u2013 Drag\u2019on Yamaha, \u00e0 vingt points.<\/p>\n

Kellett avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9croch\u00e9 son titre l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re sur les plages embl\u00e9matiques de l\u2019Algarve, au Portugal. Cette ann\u00e9e, il a r\u00e9cidiv\u00e9 avec une victoire \u00e9clatante samedi. D\u00e8s le premier tour, il devan\u00e7ait Valentin Madoulaud \u2013 Yamaha de plus de cinq secondes et, au fil de l\u2019heure de course, l\u2019\u00e9toile britannique de 27 ans a consolid\u00e9 son avance.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 mi-parcours, Kellett menait de trente-deux secondes. Lorsque J\u00e9r\u00e9my Hauquier \u2013 Yamaha est pass\u00e9 deuxi\u00e8me, il \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 hors d\u2019atteinte et a finalement franchi la ligne avec cinquante et une secondes d\u2019avance et un total impressionnant de vingt tours. \u00abC\u2019est absolument g\u00e9nial de conclure aujourd\u2019hui \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Kellett. \u00ab La saison a sembl\u00e9 longue depuis la premi\u00e8re manche en f\u00e9vrier, alors remporter ce titre, ici au Portugal, c\u2019est incroyable.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa deuxi\u00e8me place dimanche, ajout\u00e9e \u00e0 une troisi\u00e8me place samedi, Hauquier est quasiment assur\u00e9 de terminer vice-champion. Avec ses r\u00e9sultats (deuxi\u00e8me et troisi\u00e8me ce week-end), Madoulaud devient un solide pr\u00e9tendant \u00e0 la troisi\u00e8me place finale, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Maxime Sot \u2013 Fantic, quatri\u00e8me de la course.<\/p>\n

Vainqueur de Monte Gordo l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, notre compatriote Yentel Martens, toujours en phase de retour apr\u00e8s blessure, a termin\u00e9 cinqui\u00e8me.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9j\u00e0 sacr\u00e9e championne de la cat\u00e9gorie Moto Women lors de la manche pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente en Italie, Amandine Verstappen a quant \u00e0 elle une nouvelle fois triomph\u00e9 dimanche.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s une deuxi\u00e8me place l\u2019an dernier, Verstappen, 25 ans, a domin\u00e9 la saison 2024, restant invaincue avec des victoires au Enduropale du Touquet Pas-de-Calais, Enduro del Verano, Ronde des Sables de Loon-Plage et Bibione Sand Storm. Dimanche, elle est remont\u00e9e de la vingt-neuvi\u00e8me \u00e0 la dix-neuvi\u00e8me place, totalisant dix-huit tours. En revanche, la championne en titre Mathilde Denis a connu une saison difficile, avec un nouvel abandon dimanche au quatri\u00e8me tour.<\/p>\n

Paolo Maschio a pass\u00e9 la majorit\u00e9 de la saison en t\u00eate de peloton. \u00c0 Monte Gordo, ses dix-neuf tours lui ont permis de terminer quinzi\u00e8me au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, deux tours devant son rival de cat\u00e9gorie Leopold Magnien.<\/p>\n

Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des Quads, Pablo Violet savait qu\u2019une victoire dimanche suffirait pour sceller son titre. Cependant, un mauvais d\u00e9part l\u2019a rel\u00e9gu\u00e9 onzi\u00e8me tandis que son rival direct, Keveen Rochereau, prenait la t\u00eate. Apr\u00e8s un effort constant, Violet est remont\u00e9 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la deuxi\u00e8me place \u00e0 mi-course, mais Rochereau, avec une avance de vingt secondes, a termin\u00e9 premier, creusant l\u2019\u00e9cart \u00e0 quarante-six secondes. Olivier Vandendijck compl\u00e8te le podium, tandis qu\u2019Axel Dutrie s\u2019assure le titre Quad Veteran.<\/p>\n

Rendez-vous dans le sud-ouest de la France, sur la Ronde des Sables Hossegor Capbreton, les 30 novembre et 1er d\u00e9cembre prochains, pour la finale de la Coupe du monde des Courses sur Sable 2024 !<\/p>\n
