Le mythique circuit de Lommel, r\u00e9put\u00e9 dans le monde entier pour \u00eatre l\u2019un des trac\u00e9s sableux les plus exigeants, a accueilli ce week-end la seule et unique manche du championnat d\u2019Europe EMX Open.. Sous un soleil \u00e9clatant dimanche, apr\u00e8s une journ\u00e9e pluvieuse samedi, les conditions \u00e9taient id\u00e9ales pour une grande finale o\u00f9 tout allait se jouer.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 domicile, Cedric Grobben a su se montrer solide et constant lors des deux courses pour s\u2019offrir le titre de champion d\u2019Europe EMX Open 2025, offrant par la m\u00eame occasion une braban\u00e7onne retentissante aux milliers de fans belges venus le soutenir tout au long du week-end.<\/p>\n

Samedi, la premi\u00e8re manche a commenc\u00e9 sur un coup de th\u00e9\u00e2tre : Matteo Miot chutait d\u00e8s le premier virage, pendant que Tom Guyon (Tech 32) prenait le holeshot devant Brent Aerden et Cedric Grobben. Dave Kooiker et Peter Koenig (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) figuraient \u00e9galement parmi les meilleurs d\u00e8s les premiers instants, Koenig se pla\u00e7ant rapidement dans le top 5.<\/p>\n

D\u00e8s le troisi\u00e8me tour, Grobben d\u00e9passait Guyon et prenait les commandes de la course. Guyon chutait peu apr\u00e8s et r\u00e9trogradait \u00e0 la neuvi\u00e8me place. Derri\u00e8re, Koenig, Kooiker et Gert Krestinov se disputaient les places d\u2019honneur. Krestinov semblait en mesure de revenir sur Grobben, mais une panne m\u00e9canique mit un terme pr\u00e9matur\u00e9 \u00e0 sa course.<\/p>\n

Koenig h\u00e9ritait alors de la deuxi\u00e8me place, tandis que Sven van der Mierden, quatri\u00e8me \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, devait \u00e9galement abandonner \u00e0 deux tours de la fin. C\u2019est Adrien Petit qui en profitait pour grimper sur la troisi\u00e8me marche du podium, devant Aerden et Guyon, revenu dans le top 5 malgr\u00e9 sa chute.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 l\u2019avant, Grobben contr\u00f4lait parfaitement la course et franchissait la ligne avec plus de 13 secondes d\u2019avance sur Koenig. Une victoire qui le pla\u00e7ait en excellente position avant la manche d\u00e9cisive.<\/p>\n

Pumpurs s\u2019impose, Grobben assure le titre<\/strong><\/p>\n

La deuxi\u00e8me et derni\u00e8re manche d\u00e9butait sous un ciel d\u00e9gag\u00e9 et des conditions de piste nettement meilleures dimanche. Le d\u00e9part fut n\u00e9anmoins chaotique : Guyon et Jakob Kj\u00e6r s’accrochaient dans le premier virage et repartaient bons derniers. Devant, Mairis Pumpurs, seulement 10e dans la premi\u00e8re manche apr\u00e8s plusieurs erreurs, r\u00e9alisait le holeshot et s\u2019installait imm\u00e9diatement en t\u00eate avec autorit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Koenig, mal parti, ne parvenait jamais \u00e0 remonter et terminait 13e, perdant toute chance de podium au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Kooiker se positionnait en deuxi\u00e8me position, suivi de Miot et Matteo Del Coco. Albin Gerhardsson, septi\u00e8me lors de la premi\u00e8re course, figurait aussi dans le groupe de t\u00eate mais chutait alors qu\u2019il occupait la quatri\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n

Pendant ce temps, Grobben entamait une remont\u00e9e m\u00e9thodique. Il d\u00e9passait successivement Robert Fobbe, Kooiker, puis Miot pour se hisser en deuxi\u00e8me position \u00e0 mi-course, juste derri\u00e8re Pumpurs. Mais Krestinov, bien revenu lui aussi, ne rel\u00e2chait pas ses efforts et parvenait \u00e0 doubler Grobben \u00e0 trois tours de l\u2019arriv\u00e9e pour prendre la deuxi\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n

Grobben, physiquement \u00e0 bout, assurait n\u00e9anmoins la troisi\u00e8me position, suffisante pour d\u00e9crocher le titre europ\u00e9en. Plus loin, Van der Mierden et Gerhardsson prenaient le dessus sur Kooiker en fin de course, tandis que Petit remontait jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la huiti\u00e8me place, ce qui lui assurait le podium final avec un 3+8 dans les manches.<\/p>\n
