Le soleil, le sable et une mar\u00e9e de supporters belges ont vu l\u2019histoire s\u2019\u00e9crire ce week-end : Lucas Coenen, 18 ans, a triomph\u00e9 \u00e0 domicile en MXGP, devenant le premier Belge depuis 2016 -et la victoire surprise de Kevin Strijbos- \u00e0 remporter son GP national dans la cat\u00e9gorie reine. Dans l\u2019enfer sablonneux de Lommel, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 les champions naissent ou s\u2019effondrent, le prodige du team Red Bull KTM a livr\u00e9 ce qui est \u00e0 n’en pas douter sa plus grande prestation \u00e0 ce jour, signant avec \u00e9clat sa cinqui\u00e8me victoire cette saison.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Dans la deuxi\u00e8me manche du GP ce dimanche \u00e0 Lommel, j\u2019ai tout donn\u00e9, j\u2019y ai mis tout mon c\u0153ur\u00a0\u00bb, commente notre jeune compatriote. \u00a0\u00bb J\u2019ai savour\u00e9 chaque seconde du dernier tour. Je pouvais enfin me rel\u00e2cher, rouler \u00e0 mon rythme, et appr\u00e9cier le moment. C\u2019est la plus belle victoire que j’ai remport\u00e9e jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent !\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

D\u00e8s le samedi, Lucas annon\u00e7ait la couleur : victoire en manche qualificative, sa sixi\u00e8me cette saison, devant un Herlings prudent pour son retour de blessure. Le ton \u00e9tait donn\u00e9 : le public allait vibrer pour le rookie belge de la cat\u00e9gorie reine du motocross mondial, bien d\u00e9cid\u00e9 \u00e0 marquer l\u2019histoire.<\/p>\n

En premi\u00e8re manche, Lucas livrait un combat titanesque contre Romain Febvre, le leader du championnat. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019avoir bri\u00e8vement d\u00e9pass\u00e9, Coenen devait se contenter d\u2019une solide 2e place, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant g\u00e9rer ses efforts.<\/p>\n

Mais c\u2019est dans la deuxi\u00e8me manche que le d\u00e9clic se produisait : apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9part solide, Lucas adoptait un rythme que personne n’\u00e9tait en mesure de soutenir avant de lancer une attaque irr\u00e9sistible sur Febvre et de s\u2019installer en t\u00eate. La KTM frapp\u00e9e du num\u00e9ro 96 filait vers une victoire acclam\u00e9e par une foule en liesse. Ce succ\u00e8s r\u00e9duit son \u00e9cart au championnat \u00e0 seulement 9 points derri\u00e8re Febvre. \u00c0 cinq \u00e9preuves de la fin, plus que jamais, tout est possible.<\/p>\n

Pour Lucas, cette victoire \u00e0 Lommel n\u2019est pas seulement une victoire. C\u2019est une cons\u00e9cration personnelle et collective. \u00c0 18 ans, le rookie signe son dixi\u00e8me podium cons\u00e9cutif en MXGP et continue de bousculer la hi\u00e9rarchie mondiale avec une aisance d\u00e9concertante.<\/p>\n

Le triomphe belge ne s\u2019arr\u00eate pas l\u00e0. En MX2, le jumeau de Lucas, Sacha Coenen, a lui aussi brill\u00e9. Apr\u00e8s une premi\u00e8re manche mouvement\u00e9e (chutes, p\u00e9nalit\u00e9, mais une 4\u00e8me place finale), Sacha a rebondi avec une belle 2e place en seconde manche, synonyme de la troisi\u00e8me marche du podium. C\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 son septi\u00e8me podium sur les neuf derniers GP, preuve d\u2019une mont\u00e9e en puissance constante.<\/p>\n

Le championnat se poursuivra dans deux semaines \u00e0 Uddevalla avec le Grand Prix de Su\u00e8de. Cinq \u00e9preuves restent \u00e0 disputer : le sprint final dans la course au titre mondial MXGP entre l’exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 Romain Febvre et le flamboyant Lucas Coenen, le nouveau porte-drapeau du motocross belge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
