La Bibione Sand Storm, organis\u00e9e dans la station baln\u00e9aire du m\u00eame nom, en Italie, troisi\u00e8me manche du championnat du monde FIM Sand Races, a une nouvelle fois confirm\u00e9 la supr\u00e9matie du Britannique Todd Kellett. Vainqueur de la premi\u00e8re journ\u00e9e avec une large avance sur Milko Potisek et J\u00e9r\u00e9my Hauquier, le pilote Yamaha Drag\u2019on Tek a doubl\u00e9 la mise dimanche au terme d\u2019une deuxi\u00e8me manche haletante face \u00e0 Cyril Genot.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s plus d\u2019une heure et demie de course, Kellett s\u2019est impos\u00e9 pour seulement 1,2 seconde face \u00e0 Cyril Genot, auteur d\u2019un d\u00e9part parfait et longtemps en t\u00eate. Victime d\u2019un mauvais d\u00e9part, Kellett a d\u00fb cravacher pour remonter le peloton et offrir au public italien un duel de titans avec notre compatriote.\u00a0Derri\u00e8re le duo de t\u00eate, le co\u00e9quipier de Genot H\u00e5kon Fredriksen termine troisi\u00e8me devant J\u00e9r\u00e9my Hauquier.<\/p>\n

La veille, Kellett s’\u00e9tait impos\u00e9 devant Potisek et Hauquier alors que Cyril Genot \u00e9tait pour sa part victime d’une grosse chute au d\u00e9part et se voyait plus tard contraint de jeter l’\u00e9ponge \u00e0 cause d’un ennui m\u00e9canique.<\/p>\n

Le N\u00e9erlandais Damien Knuiman a confirm\u00e9 sa belle forme en signant une solide quatri\u00e8me place au classement final, juste devant un autre jeune pilote Yamaha, notre compatriote Tias Callens, constant tout le week-end avec une nouvelle 7e position. Milko Potisek, retard\u00e9 par une chute au d\u00e9part, a r\u00e9ussi une belle remont\u00e9e jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la 10e place, tandis que Joey Nuques a d\u00fb abandonner, bless\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9paule apr\u00e8s une chute.<\/p>\n

Chez les dames, le suspense \u00e9tait \u00e9galement au rendez-vous. Victorieuse le premier jour, la sextuple championne du monde de motocross Kiara Fontanesi a d\u00fb s\u2019incliner face \u00e0 Amandine Verstappen, meilleure en seconde manche (22e au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, juste devant Fontanesi).<\/p>\n
