D\u00e9j\u00e0 vainqueur du prologue de Yanbu hier, le jeune pilote espagnol Edgar Canet qui s\u2019\u00e9tait impos\u00e9 l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re en Rally 2 impressionne pour ses d\u00e9buts dans l\u2019\u00e9lite. Le pilote KTM remporte la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape du rallye et conserve la t\u00eate du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n

Ross Branch a \u00e9t\u00e9 le plus rapide sur les 305 kilom\u00e8tres de la sp\u00e9ciale du jour, mais a \u00e9t\u00e9 p\u00e9nalis\u00e9 pour un exc\u00e8s de vitesse qui lui a valu une p\u00e9nalit\u00e9 de 6 minutes. Le podium du jour est finalement identique \u00e0 celui du prologue, mais avec des \u00e9carts forc\u00e9ment plus importants. Edgar Canet devance son co\u00e9quipier chez Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Daniel Sanders de 1\u201902\u2019\u2019, et leur rival chez Monster Energy Honda HRC Ricky Brabec de 1\u201932\u2019\u2019, soit les deux derniers vainqueurs du Dakar !<\/p>\n

En Rally 2, Michel Docherty s\u2019impose pour la 11e fois avec sa KTM dans la cat\u00e9gorie et devance le nouveau venu Martim Ventura, qui avait domin\u00e9 au guidon de sa Honda la plus grande partie de la sp\u00e9ciale mais a \u00e9t\u00e9 battu sur le sprint final, pour 1\u201928\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martiny, 31\u00e8me hier du prologue, poursuit sur son excellente lanc\u00e9e aujourd’hui. Notre compatriote place sa Honda \u00e0 une belle 34\u00e8me place au terme d’une sp\u00e9ciale au cours de laquelle il a fait le choix de s’arr\u00eater pour accompagner juste apr\u00e8s sa chute un concurrent parti avant lui. Comme le pr\u00e9voit le r\u00e8glement, le temps ainsi perdu lui a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9compt\u00e9 pour \u00e9tablir le classement final de la sp\u00e9ciale.<\/p>\n

Au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Martiny occupe la 33\u00e8me position avant d’entamer la 3\u00e8me journ\u00e9e de course qui m\u00e8nera les concurrents vers Alula apr\u00e8s plus de 500 kilom\u00e8tres, dont 400 de sp\u00e9ciale.<\/p>\n
