Cette fois, les pilotes encore en lice sur le 48\u00e8me Dakar ont franchi un cap important. Ce vendredi marquait la fin de la premi\u00e8re semaine de course. Demain samedi sera consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la tr\u00e8s attendue journ\u00e9e de repos. De quoi recharger les batteries avant d’attaquer une s\u00e9rie de 7 \u00e9tapes qui ram\u00e8neront les pilotes \u00e0 Yanbu, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le rallye a pris son envol le 3 janvier dernier.<\/p>\n

Comme de nombreux autres concurrents, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martiny s’attend \u00e0 ce que cette deuxi\u00e8me semaine soit plus exigeante encore que celle qui vient de s’\u00e9couler, comme il nous le confiait le week-end dernier<\/a>. Et pourtant, les premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes n’ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 de tout repos pour les motards, loin de l\u00e0. Sur un parcours qui ne fait aucun cadeau, les hommes de t\u00eate se battent \u00e0 coup de secondes et c’est d’ailleurs s\u00e9par\u00e9s par 45 secondes \u00e0 peine que les deux leaders du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Sanders et Brabec, aborderont la 7\u00e8me \u00e9tape dimanche matin.<\/p>\n

De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Martiny fait sa course comme il en a pris l’habitude. Avec retenue, attendant le bon moment pour marquer des points tout en dosant son effort pour m\u00e9nager sa machine et garder son \u00e9nergie pour les moments cl\u00e9s du rallye. Une strat\u00e9gie qui vaut aujourd’hui \u00e0 notre compatriote d’occuper la 24\u00e8me place du classement provisoire avant d’entrer dans la deuxi\u00e8me semaine et de garder \u00e0 sa port\u00e9e les deux leaders du classement malle-moto, le Fran\u00e7ais Benjamin Melot et l’Espagnol Josep Pedro.<\/p>\n

Devant, Daniel Sanders a donn\u00e9 un r\u00e9cital sur les pistes de la premi\u00e8re grande \u00e9tape de sable menant \u00e0 Riyadh. Parti de Hail en 3e position, le tenant du titre a enfum\u00e9 sur sa route Nacho Cornejo puis son co\u00e9quipier Luciano Benivades pour terminer la sp\u00e9ciale en solo et gloutonner une belle portion des bonifs d\u00e9di\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019ouvreur (2\u201940\u2019\u2019), de quoi prendre le large au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Mais l\u2019Australien, probablement port\u00e9 par son enthousiasme, a n\u00e9glig\u00e9 une zone \u00e0 vitesse limit\u00e9e, une erreur qui lui vaudra une p\u00e9nalit\u00e9 de six minutes.<\/p>\n

Bien qu\u2019il ait \u00e9t\u00e9 battu sur la piste, c\u2019est donc\u00a0Ricky Brabec\u00a0qui r\u00e9coltera les fruits de sa r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 au plus haut niveau, \u00e0 la fois sur la journ\u00e9e et depuis le d\u00e9part de\u00a0Yanbu. L\u2019Am\u00e9ricain\u00a0signe ainsi son 12e scratch sur le\u00a0Dakar\u00a0et confirme son statut de plus grand rival de\u00a0Daniel Sanders. Le pilote du\u00a0Monster Energy Honda HRC\u00a0a conscience du chemin qu\u2019il lui reste \u00e0 faire pour gagner un troisi\u00e8me titre, puisqu\u2019il pointe toujours \u00e0 45\u2019\u2019 du leader\u00a0Australien, mais reste le seul pilote\u00a0Rally GP\u00a0\u00e0 n\u2019avoir commis aucune erreur \u00e0 ce jour.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est la veille que\u00a0Tosha Schareina\u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 p\u00e9nalis\u00e9 pour une boulette. L\u2019Espagnol\u00a0n\u2019a pas su se racheter totalement, bien que sa position de d\u00e9part (5e) lui offrait une opportunit\u00e9 de se refaire. \u00c0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e, le pire lui est \u00e9vit\u00e9 puisque\u00a0Sanders\u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 rattrap\u00e9 par la patrouille, mais son plan de bataille initial ne pr\u00e9voyait pas de passer la journ\u00e9e de repos au pied du podium, \u00e0 11\u201956\u2019\u2019 de son grand rival\u2026 mais \u00e0 moins d\u2019une minute de la 3e place de\u00a0Luciano Benavides.<\/p>\n
