Luciano Benavides a remis le couvert ce lundi en remportant la 8\u00e8me \u00e9tape du Dakar alors qu’il avait le d\u00e9savantage d’ouvrir la piste. Notre compatriote J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martiny termine la journ\u00e9e \u00e0 la 28\u00e8me place et conserve son 24\u00e8me rang au provisoire.<\/p>\n

Un tr\u00e8s l\u00e9ger retour en arri\u00e8re s\u2019impose, d\u2019\u00e0 peine dix jours. Au jeu des pronostics d\u2019avant-course, la majorit\u00e9 des observateurs tablaient logiquement sur un duel entre Daniel Sanders et Tosha Schareina, les deux pilotes ayant nettement domin\u00e9 l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 de la saison 2025. Le nom de Luciano Benavides \u00e9tait cit\u00e9 parmi les outsiders. Et il arrive qu\u2019ils se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent. C\u2019est peut-\u00eatre ce qui est en train de se jouer, avec une nouvelle journ\u00e9e royale de l\u2019Argentin, qui s\u2019\u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 montr\u00e9 capable l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re de s\u2019imposer en ouvrant la piste, et qui vient de r\u00e9p\u00e9ter cet exploit sur la plus longue sp\u00e9ciale de la quinzaine. Au terme de ce sans-faute de 483 km en solitaire, il empoche la totalit\u00e9 des bonifs d\u2019ouverture (7’28\u2019\u2019), remporte sa troisi\u00e8me \u00e9tape en 2026 et prend la t\u00eate du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, avec 10\u2019\u2019 d\u2019avance sur son co\u00e9quipier australien. De quoi changer de dimension.<\/p>\n

Bien s\u00fbr, les \u00e9carts observables au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral ne lui indiquent pas un boulevard en direction de Yanbu. Le num\u00e9ro 1, avec le 2e temps du jour et un retard infime, a toujours de quoi garder confiance. Et dans le r\u00e9troviseur de\u00a0Sanders, les Red Bull KTM Factory Racing peuvent toujours se m\u00e9fier de la menace des Monster Energy Honda HRC. Celle de\u00a0Ricky Brabec\u00a0bien s\u00fbr, post\u00e9 \u00e0 4\u201947\u2019\u2019 du leader argentin sur la 3e marche du podium provisoire, et pourquoi pas celle de\u00a0Tosha Schareina, en 4e position mais pas totalement exclu du jeu avec ses 20 minutes de retard.<\/p>\n
