Ce mardi, la 9\u00e8me \u00e9tape du Dakar \u00e9tait aussi la premi\u00e8re partie de la seconde \u00e9tape marathon. Ce qui signifie que ce soir, les pilotes dorment quelque part dans le d\u00e9sert, sans assistance, avant de reprendre la piste demain matin. 530 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e9taient au menu du jours alors que demain, ce sont encore 320 kilom\u00e8tres, du sable et des dunes qui attendent les pilotes pour gagner la localit\u00e9 de Bisha, dans le sud-ouest de l’Arabie saoudite.<\/p>\n

C\u00f4t\u00e9 belge, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martiny est \u00e0 nouveau bien dans le coup puisque notre compatriote boucle cette dixi\u00e8me journ\u00e9e (sur 14) de course \u00e0 la 27\u00e8me position. Au provisoire, il perd une petite place pour s’installer ce mardi soir au 25\u00e8me \u00e9chelon.<\/p>\n

Les \u00e9tapes marathon ne sont pas abord\u00e9es comme les autres. Et celle qui partait ce matin de Wadi ad Dawasir pr\u00e9sentait de plus des difficult\u00e9s de navigation qui ont rapidement chang\u00e9 la donne entre les protagonistes des derniers jours. La belle histoire de Benavides n\u2019est peut-\u00eatre pas termin\u00e9e, mais son s\u00e9jour au sommet du classement a au minimum \u00e9t\u00e9 interrompu. Le gros coup du jour a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9 par Tosha Schareina, le plus inspir\u00e9 en d\u00e9but de parcours pour choisir le bon canyon \u00e0 un point o\u00f9 ses rivaux on pris la mauvaise option, et surtout le plus rapide sur toute la fin de la sp\u00e9ciale, boucl\u00e9e avec le meilleur temps : 6\u201924\u2019\u2019 plus vite que Daniel Sanders, et 6\u201922\u2019\u2019 par rapport \u00e0 son co\u00e9quipier Honda Ricky Brabec.<\/p>\n

Le pilote espagnol, toujours 4e du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral avec un retard ramen\u00e9 \u00e0 15 minutes, peut continuer \u00e0 se mordre les doigts au sujet des dix minutes de p\u00e9nalit\u00e9 prises sur la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape marathon et sans lesquelles il serait bel et bien en train de livrer le duel pour lequel il \u00e9tait attendu avec Daniel Sanders. Le tenant du titre est en effet le principal b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaire de la journ\u00e9e, puisque sa confusion commune avec son co\u00e9quipier Luciano Benavides lui fait perdre un peu moins.<\/p>\n

Le pilote australien de KTM retrouve ainsi la t\u00eate du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, qu\u2019il domine avec 6\u201924\u2019\u2019 d\u2019avance sur son rival am\u00e9ricain\u00a0Ricky Brabec. La marge n\u2019est pas r\u00e9ellement confortable avant la deuxi\u00e8me manche du marathon, dans laquelle le chasseur Honda prendra le d\u00e9part trois minutes apr\u00e8s lui et o\u00f9 le copieux programme de dunes r\u00e9serve peut-\u00eatre des surprises.<\/p>\n
