La caravane du Dakar est de retour \u00e0 Yanbu, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le rallye a pris son envol il y a deux semaines. 720 kilom\u00e8tres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 parcourus sur cette 12\u00e8me \u00e9tape qui a permis \u00e0 Ricky Brabec de prendre une s\u00e9rieuse option sur la victoire. Luciano Benavides n’a sans doute pas encore dit son dernier mot mais les chances sont grandes de voir l’Am\u00e9ricain remporter demain son troisi\u00e8me succ\u00e8s sur le Dakar.<\/p>\n

Le plan a fonctionn\u00e9. Hier, Ricky Brabec avait volontairement c\u00e9d\u00e9 la t\u00eate du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral \u00e0 Luciano Benavides. Ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas un coup de folie, mais simplement une strat\u00e9gie pour s\u2019\u00e9lancer six minutes derri\u00e8re son rival ce matin, avec un retard au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral limit\u00e9 \u00e0 23\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Avec la ma\u00eetrise technique dont dispose l\u2019Am\u00e9ricain, il s\u2019agissait en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de la m\u00e9thode la plus s\u00fbre pour s\u2019assurer une avance confortable avant la derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape et de pouvoir renommer \u00ab Boulevard Brabec \u00bb la boucle de demain autour de Yanbu. C\u2019est chose faite, puisqu\u2019avec sa 13e victoire de sp\u00e9ciale, la 2e cette ann\u00e9e, le pilote Honda engloutit non seulement les 23\u2019\u2019 en question comme une rasade de Monster, mais augmente sa marge \u00e0 3\u201943\u2019\u2019. Le troisi\u00e8me titre est en vue pour Ricky.<\/p>\n

Le sc\u00e9nario d\u2019une remont\u00e9e de Luciano Benavides sur la derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape n\u2019est pas exclu \u00e0 100 %. Son fr\u00e8re Kevin y \u00e9tait parvenu en 2023, mais il n\u2019avait \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque que 12\u2019\u2019 de retard sur Toby Price. Demain l\u2019Argentin partira certes 3 minutes derri\u00e8re le nouveau leader, mais il n\u2019aura que 105 kilom\u00e8tres pour le rejoindre, une distance pendant laquelle Brabec empochera des \u00ab bonifs \u00bb d\u2019ouverture (1\u201923\u2019\u2019 au total). Il faudrait donc des ailes supersoniques au pilote Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pour renverser le classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral en sa faveur.<\/p>\n

Skyler Howes\u00a0et\u00a0Adrien Van Beveren\u00a0ouvraient la piste ce matin, mais ont assez vite laiss\u00e9 les duellistes s\u2019expliquer \u00e0 l\u2019avant. Respectivement chronom\u00e9tr\u00e9s \u00e0 plus de 24 et 13 minutes, leur \u00ab ralenti \u00bb du jour n\u2019affectant pas leurs positions au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. L\u2019Am\u00e9ricain\u00a0reste 4e, avec un peu plus de huit minutes d\u2019avance sur le\u00a0Fran\u00e7ais.<\/p>\n

J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martiny termine la journ\u00e9e \u00e0 la 27\u00e8me place et s’assure ainsi de conserver la 22\u00e8me position du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral alors que l’arriv\u00e9e est toute proche. Ce sera le cinqui\u00e8me Dakar d\u00e9j\u00e0 boucl\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s pour notre compatriote.<\/p>\n
