Figure du paddock mondial, Jeffrey Herlings entame en 2026 un tournant majeur de sa carri\u00e8re en rejoignant la structure officielle Honda HRC, d\u00e9sormais engag\u00e9e sous l\u2019appellation Honda HRC PETRONAS. Le N\u00e9erlandais ne cache ni l\u2019urgence du temps qui passe, ni son ambition intacte : performer vite, tr\u00e8s vite.<\/p>\n

Lors de la pr\u00e9sentation officielle du team, Herlings a imm\u00e9diatement donn\u00e9 le ton. Arriv\u00e9 seulement le 1er janvier dans sa nouvelle \u00e9quipe, il n\u2019a pratiquement pas eu de r\u00e9pit : \u00ab L\u2019\u00e9quipe peut avoir du temps, pas moi. Je n\u2019ai plus dix ans de carri\u00e8re devant moi, donc je dois performer, et je dois performer vite. \u00bb Entre la mise en place de l\u2019\u00e9quipement, des r\u00e9glages, de la moto et de tout l\u2019environnement technique, le d\u00e9lai a \u00e9t\u00e9 extr\u00eamement court : \u00ab J\u2019ai eu cinq, six semaines maximum. On est encore en train d\u2019apprendre, de d\u00e9couvrir, mais je pense qu\u2019on a d\u00e9j\u00e0 une bonne base, aussi avec la moto. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Le pilote n\u00e9erlandais d\u00e9couvre en plus une machine prototype : \u00ab C\u2019est une nouvelle moto, une sorte de prototype. Elle vient juste de sortir. Il y a \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de potentiel, \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de possibilit\u00e9s. \u00bb Un contexte qui rend le d\u00e9fi encore plus stimulant, mais qui impose aussi une mont\u00e9e en puissance rapide : \u00ab Je ne peux pas attendre toute la saison. J\u2019ai besoin de quelques courses pour me mettre dans le rythme. J\u2019ai vu le week-end dernier que l\u2019intensit\u00e9 n\u2019\u00e9tait pas encore l\u00e0, mais j\u2019esp\u00e8re qu\u2019au premier GP je serai pr\u00eat et qu\u2019on pourra rapidement se battre pour les victoires. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Ce transfert vers Honda marque aussi l\u2019aboutissement d\u2019un objectif personnel ancien : \u00ab \u00c7a a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 un r\u00eave pour moi de rouler pour Honda HRC. On \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 proches d\u2019un accord en 2016. Pour moi, si je devais quitter mon ancienne \u00e9quipe, ce ne pouvait \u00eatre que pour Honda. C\u2019\u00e9tait un r\u00eave d\u2019enfant. \u00bb Malgr\u00e9 une longue et fructueuse p\u00e9riode pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente avec KTM, il ne nourrit aucun regret : \u00ab J\u2019ai accompli beaucoup de choses, j\u2019en garde de bons souvenirs. Mais rejoindre Honda HRC, je ne voulais pas passer \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de \u00e7a. \u00bb Et la surprise est positive : \u00ab Honn\u00eatement, je suis surpris de voir \u00e0 quel point la moto est d\u00e9j\u00e0 bonne. Et comme c\u2019est un nouveau mod\u00e8le, \u00e7a me donne beaucoup d\u2019espoir sur le potentiel futur. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Les blessures des derni\u00e8res saisons n\u2019ont pas entam\u00e9 sa d\u00e9termination, m\u00eame s\u2019il reste lucide : \u00ab Le motocross est un sport \u00e0 risques, les blessures en font partie. L\u2019an dernier j\u2019ai manqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9but de saison, puis je suis revenu avec seulement quelques jours de roulage apr\u00e8s six mois d\u2019arr\u00eat. Les premi\u00e8res courses ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s difficiles. \u00bb Cette fois, la pr\u00e9paration est plus solide : \u00ab Je me sens bien, je me sens en forme. Il me manque encore un peu d\u2019intensit\u00e9 de course, c\u2019est pour \u00e7a que je fais plusieurs \u00e9preuves de pr\u00e9paration avant le premier GP. Je n\u2019aurai plus beaucoup d\u2019occasions, donc chaque opportunit\u00e9 je dois la saisir \u00e0 deux mains. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Face \u00e0 une grille MXGP qui m\u00e9lange jeunesse et exp\u00e9rience, Herlings garde une lecture simple : \u00ab Pour moi, ce sont \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s les m\u00eames gars que ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, avec deux ou trois nouveaux en plus. Ce championnat est long, avec 60 manches. Tout est une question de r\u00e9gularit\u00e9. \u00bb Il cite d\u2019ailleurs l\u2019exemple r\u00e9cent de la constance comme cl\u00e9 du titre mondial : \u00eatre pr\u00e9sent chaque week-end, sans trou d\u2019air.<\/p>\n

L\u2019arriv\u00e9e de nouveaux partenaires majeurs comme Monster Energy renforce encore la structure et la pression de r\u00e9sultat \u2014 un contexte qui le stimule plus qu\u2019il ne l\u2019inqui\u00e8te. Apr\u00e8s 17 ans dans le m\u00eame environnement, ce changement agit comme un d\u00e9clic : \u00ab C\u2019est une toute nouvelle aventure, une \u00e9norme motivation.
