Le samedi de qualification du Grand Prix de Grande-Bretagne, disput\u00e9 sur le spectaculaire circuit de Foxhills, a r\u00e9serv\u00e9 des fortunes diverses aux pilotes belges. Alors que Lucas Coenen a vu sa s\u00e9rie positive brutalement interrompue par une chute d\u00e8s le premier tour en MXGP, son fr\u00e8re Sacha Coenen a limit\u00e9 les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts en MX2 avec une solide quatri\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n

Leader du championnat du monde MXGP, Lucas Coenen esp\u00e9rait poursuivre sur sa lanc\u00e9e en Angleterre. Mais le jeune pilote Red Bull KTM a \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d’une chute peu apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9part de la course qualificative. Contraint \u00e0 l’abandon d\u00e8s le premier tour, il repart sans le moindre point de cette manche du samedi.<\/p>\n

La victoire est revenue \u00e0 l’Espagnol Rub\u00e9n Fernandez (Honda), qui a devanc\u00e9 le Fran\u00e7ais Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) et Tom Vialle (Honda). Jeffrey Herlings (Honda), principal rival de Coenen au championnat, s’est content\u00e9 de la quatri\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 ce contretemps, Lucas Coenen conserve une avance confortable au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral avec 566 points, contre 505 pour Herlings. Le Belge dispose donc toujours de 61 points d’avance avant les deux manches d\u00e9cisives de dimanche.<\/p>\n

Les autres repr\u00e9sentants belges en MXGP ont termin\u00e9 plus loin dans le classement. Brent Van doninck (Fantic) a franchi la ligne d’arriv\u00e9e en 14e position, tandis que Jago Geerts (Beta) a d\u00e9croch\u00e9 le dernier point de la qualification en terminant 20e. Au championnat, Van doninck occupe le 16e rang avec 95 points, juste devant Geerts, 17e avec 90 unit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Sacha Coenen solide en MX2<\/strong><\/p>\n

En MX2, la qualification s’est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e plus encourageante pour les couleurs belges. Sacha Coenen, lui aussi leader du championnat, a termin\u00e9 au pied du podium avec une quatri\u00e8me place. Le pilote KTM, qui revient tout juste d’une op\u00e9ration de la clavicule apr\u00e8s sa chute \u00e0 Southwick, a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu’il restait comp\u00e9titif malgr\u00e9 sa blessure r\u00e9cente.<\/p>\n

La victoire est revenue au champion du monde en titre Simon L\u00e4ngenfelder (KTM), devant les deux pilotes Triumph Guillem Farres et Camden McLellan.<\/p>\n

Au championnat, Sacha Coenen porte d\u00e9sormais son total \u00e0 525 points. Son principal poursuivant, Farres, r\u00e9duit toutefois l\u00e9g\u00e8rement son retard et revient \u00e0 12 points du Belge avant les manches dominicales. L’autre Belge de la cat\u00e9gorie, Liam Everts (Husqvarna), a sign\u00e9 une belle cinqui\u00e8me place et conserve \u00e9galement la cinqui\u00e8me position au classement provisoire avec 439 points.<\/p>\n

Les courses de dimanche s’annoncent donc particuli\u00e8rement importantes pour les leaders belges. Lucas Coenen devra effacer la d\u00e9ception de son abandon afin de pr\u00e9server son confortable avantage en MXGP, tandis que Sacha Coenen tentera de reprendre ses distances face \u00e0 Guillem Farres dans une lutte pour le titre MX2 plus serr\u00e9e que jamais.<\/p>\n
