Jeffrey Herlings a relanc\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re spectaculaire la course au titre mondial MXGP ce dimanche \u00e0 Foxhill. Le pilote n\u00e9erlandais a remport\u00e9 les deux manches du Grand Prix de Grande-Bretagne, tandis que le leader du championnat Lucas Coenen a d\u00fb abandonner \u00e0 deux reprises, vraisemblablement victime d\u2019une blessure \u00e0 la jambe gauche. Au classement provisoire, le Belge ne conserve plus que 11 points d\u2019avance sur \u00ab The Bullet \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Le Fran\u00e7ais Romain Febvre a pris la deuxi\u00e8me place du Grand Prix devant le Slov\u00e8ne Tim Gajser.<\/p>\n

Auteur du holeshot, Jeffrey Herlings a imm\u00e9diatement pris les commandes devant Tim Gajser et Tom Vialle. Lucas Coenen, encore marqu\u00e9 par sa lourde chute de la veille lors de la qualification, s\u2019est \u00e9lanc\u00e9 avec prudence et pointait seulement au dixi\u00e8me rang dans les premiers tours.<\/p>\n

Le pilote KTM n\u2019a toutefois pas pu poursuivre son effort : apr\u00e8s quatre tours, il a regagn\u00e9 les stands et abandonn\u00e9 d\u00e9finitivement. Herlings a alors parfaitement exploit\u00e9 la situation en contr\u00f4lant la course de bout en bout, malgr\u00e9 la pression constante de Gajser.<\/p>\n

Derri\u00e8re le duo de t\u00eate, Vialle, Febvre et le revenant Jeremy Seewer se sont longtemps disput\u00e9 les places d\u2019honneur. Dans les derniers tours, Febvre a accentu\u00e9 la pression sur son compatriote fran\u00e7ais. Une chute tardive de Vialle a finalement offert la troisi\u00e8me place \u00e0 Febvre.<\/p>\n

Brent Van Doninck et Jago Geerts ont termin\u00e9 plus loin, respectivement 16e et 18e.<\/p>\n

Deuxi\u00e8me manche : Coenen tente, puis renonce<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 son abandon de la premi\u00e8re course, Lucas Coenen a choisi de reprendre place derri\u00e8re la grille pour limiter les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts au championnat. Herlings a de nouveau sign\u00e9 le meilleur d\u00e9part devant Gajser et Vialle, tandis que Febvre s\u2019est rapidement d\u00e9barrass\u00e9 du Fran\u00e7ais pour s\u2019installer en troisi\u00e8me position.<\/p>\n

Visiblement diminu\u00e9, Coenen occupait la 11e place apr\u00e8s un tour. Mais apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pass\u00e9 par Jago Geerts, le pilote d\u2019Overijse a ralenti avant de ranger sa KTM sur le bord de la piste, laissant appara\u00eetre une douleur \u00e9vidente \u00e0 la jambe gauche. Le leader du Mondial enregistrait ainsi un deuxi\u00e8me z\u00e9ro cons\u00e9cutif.<\/p>\n

Herlings r\u00e9siste \u00e0 Febvre<\/strong><\/p>\n

En t\u00eate, la course a longtemps ressembl\u00e9 \u00e0 un copier-coller de la premi\u00e8re manche. Gajser est rest\u00e9 dans la roue arri\u00e8re d\u2019Herlings, mais une erreur lui a co\u00fbt\u00e9 sa deuxi\u00e8me place au profit de Febvre. Au m\u00eame moment, Pauls Jonass a \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d\u2019une lourde chute et a quitt\u00e9 la piste bless\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Dans les cinq derni\u00e8res minutes, Febvre est revenu au contact direct d\u2019Herlings, mais le N\u00e9erlandais n\u2019a commis aucune erreur et s\u2019est impos\u00e9 une nouvelle fois avec autorit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Un championnat totalement relanc\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce doubl\u00e9, Jeffrey Herlings remporte le Grand Prix de Grande-Bretagne devant Romain Febvre et Tim Gajser. Surtout, il revient \u00e0 seulement 11 points de Lucas Coenen au championnat du monde MXGP.<\/p>\n

Le clan belge a tout de m\u00eame pu se r\u00e9jouir de la belle remont\u00e9e de Jago Geerts et Brent Van Doninck, tous deux auteurs d\u2019un solide top 10 dans la seconde manche.<\/p>\n

La caravane MXGP prendra d\u00e9sormais la direction de la R\u00e9publique tch\u00e8que, o\u00f9 se disputera la prochaine \u00e9preuve du championnat du monde le week-end prochain.<\/p>\n
