Sur seize grand prix disput\u00e9s, le tandem italo-autrichien a glan\u00e9 la bagatelle de 11 p\u00f4les positions, 21 victoires de manches, 11 victoires de Grand Prix pour pas moins de 339 tours effectu\u00e9s en t\u00eate. Rien que \u00e7a\u00a0! Autant dire qu&rsquo;except\u00e9 un faux pas en Su\u00e8de, le jockey sicilien n&rsquo;a laiss\u00e9 que des miettes \u00e0\u00a0 la concurrence. Coup de projecteur sur une machine hors normes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Sur le tr\u00e9pied, la belle se diff\u00e9rencie certes de la version d&rsquo;origine, mais tant la robe que le bloc restent relativement proches de la s\u00e9rie. On note des composants vus et revus sur les machines oranges, \u00e0\u00a0 savoir la ligne Akrapovic, les moyeux Kite, les freins Brembo usines ou encore les t\u00e9s X-Trig qui supportent l&rsquo;ensemble fourche\/amorto WP factory.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"lightbox dia=1\" href=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/cairoli_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" genre, la KTM #222 se veut avant tout sobre, efficace et \u00ab\u00a0ready to win\u00a0\u00bb. C\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0interne\u00a0\u00bb, on n&rsquo;en saura pas plus venant du directeur technique du service course, si ce n&rsquo;est que les ing\u00e9nieurs sont rest\u00e9s fid\u00e8les \u00e0\u00a0 la marque Pankl pour les pi\u00e8ces moteur (fabriquant issu de l&rsquo;a\u00e9ronautique) tels que le piston et l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0\u00a0 cames, entre autres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A nous la KTM de Cairoli!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mantova, mi-Octobre, 21 degr\u00e9s au thermom\u00e8tre, le sable juste humide de la ros\u00e9e matinale et le soleil d&rsquo;automne \u00e9blouissant sur fond de ciel bleu, vous avez dit conditions parfaites? La KT tr\u00f4ne l\u00e0\u00a0, sous la tonnelle officielle, en attendant de se faire malmener par chacun des journaleux, le poignet droit tr\u00e9pignant d&rsquo;impatience&#8230; Et c\u00f4t\u00e9 maltraitance de la gachette, nous avons fait appel \u00e0\u00a0 Julien Vanstippen, pilote wallon au bagage technique \u00e0\u00a0 la hauteur de son talent. Du haut de son m\u00e8tre 74, le pilote rital est \u00e0\u00a0 peine plus grand que Julien. Ce dernier appr\u00e9cie tout particuli\u00e8rement le cintre du Renthal Fatbar 604, <em>\u00ab\u00a0Je le pr\u00e9f\u00e8re nettement au Twinwall 997 mont\u00e9 sur la moto de Herlings. Et puis il y a un peu plus de pr\u00e9charge \u00e0\u00a0 l&rsquo;amortisseur ce qui rend la moto plus basse de l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re, plus en position \u00ab\u00a0type chopper\u00a0\u00bb et perso, \u00e7a convient mieux \u00e0\u00a0 mes courtes jambes\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Essay\u00e9e juste apr\u00e8s les machines de Nagl et Herlings, Julien n&rsquo;a besoin que d&rsquo;un tour ou deux pour s&rsquo;acclimater. Justesse au niveau de la bo\u00eete de vitesse et pr\u00e9cision sur les sauts ne se font pas attendre, Julien est directement dans le coup. Il s&rsquo;arr\u00eate apr\u00e8s quelques tours et me confie ses impressions \u00e0\u00a0 chaud\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est royal\u00a0! Il y a de la puissance partout, mais pas trop. Pour moi, c&rsquo;est LE compromis id\u00e9al\u00a0! Le moteur est rempli mais il aime \u00e0\u00a0 se faire cravacher, il allonge vraiment fort mais juste un poil moins que celui de Herlings\u00a0\u00bb <\/em>(qualifi\u00e9 \u00a0de \u00ab\u00a0hors normes\u00a0\u00bb en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;allonge par l&rsquo;ensemble des essayeurs pr\u00e9sents). Tr\u00e8s bien, et c\u00f4t\u00e9 ch\u00e0\u00a2ssis, \u00e7a dit quoi alors? \u00ab<em>\u00a0L&rsquo;assiette de la moto est vraiment peu conventionnelle. La fourche est b\u00e9ton, un vrai bout de bois, on dirait presque une fourche de SX alors que l&rsquo;amortisseur est lui super ouvert <\/em>(comprenez souple et rel\u00e0\u00a2ch\u00e9).<em> On met deux ou trois tours \u00e0\u00a0 s&rsquo;y habituer mais le comportement est hyper sain\u00a0! Il s&rsquo;arr\u00eate alors et me confie qu&rsquo;il parvient \u00e0\u00a0 encha\u00eener les tours rapides sans trop se fatiguer. Car la faible consommation d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie d\u00e9pens\u00e9e, \u00e0\u00a0 vitesse \u00e9gale et en comparaison avec le pilotage d&rsquo;une 450cc, est \u00e0\u00a0 coup s\u00e0\u00bbr LE point fort num\u00e9ro un de cette machine. Allez, relance deux tours lui confiais-je, t&rsquo;as encore de la marge&#8230;\u00a0. 1&rsquo;46.4 avec un bon gros \u00abtankage\u00a0\u00bb au bas d&rsquo;une mont\u00e9e et un 1&rsquo;45.9 dans la foul\u00e9e (on apprendra par la suite que Herlings et Tony \u00e9taient en 1&rsquo;43.5 le lendemain en conditions similaires). Bien! Julien m&rsquo;avoue <em>\u00ab\u00a0je peux encore descendre mais on arrive en fin de journ\u00e9e et je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re ne pas prendre le moindre risque. Je vais jouer un peu avec, elle est tellement maniable que sur les sauts\u00a0elle donne\u00a0l&rsquo;impression d&rsquo;une 125cc, c&rsquo;est trop bon\u00a0!<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb. Tu m&rsquo;\u00e9tonnes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>L&rsquo;arme\u00a0!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pour finir la journ\u00e9e en beaut\u00e9, Julien termine la session par deux \u00e0\u00a0 trois d\u00e9parts. Outre le crochet de d\u00e9part fix\u00e9e ultra bas (la fourche est certainement comprim\u00e9e entre 14 et 16cm), on note la facult\u00e9 du moteur \u00e0\u00a0 bondir au l\u00e0\u00a2cher d&#8217;embrayage. On comprend mieux les sorties de grille \u00ab\u00a0tonitruantes\u00a0\u00bb (c&rsquo;est le cas de le dire) r\u00e9alis\u00e9es cet ann\u00e9e par l&rsquo;italien.
