Le rideau est tomb\u00e9 sur les championnats du monde de motocross MX1 et MX2 au terme d’un 15\u00e8me et ultime round qui a sacr\u00e9 David Philippaerts et Tyla Rattray. Pour les 2 hommes, ces premiers titres mondiaux viennent r\u00e9compenser une saison 2008 g\u00e9r\u00e9e de main de ma\u00eetre. Steve Ramon ne s’est une fois de plus pas montr\u00e9 à la hauteur de son rival italien en ne terminant que 11\u00e8me avant qu’un sursaut d’orgeuil ne lui permette d’accrocher une belle seconde place dans la seconde manche derri\u00e8re Max Nagl, qui remporte à Faenza le premier GP de sa carri\u00e8re.
\nEn MX2, Rattray n’avait pratiquement plus qu’à para\u00eetre pour \u00eatre titr\u00e9 et il laisse donc le doubl\u00e9 à Tommy Searle qui s’impose devant le Sud-Africain et notre compatriote Jo\u00ebl Roelants, excellent second de la derni\u00e8re manche de la saison!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Depuis le titre d’Alex Puzar en 250cc en 1990, plus jamais un pilote italien ne s’\u00e9tait impos\u00e9 dans la cat\u00e9gorie reine. En remportant hier le titre MX1 devant son public, David Philippaerts met donc fin à 18 ans d’attente dans le clan italien. Pr\u00e9sent en GP depuis 2001, l’Italo-Belge a \u00e9t\u00e9 l’un des grands animateurs de la cat\u00e9gorie MX2 en 2005 et 2006, avant que KTM ne lui propose une place en MX1 pour la saison 2007.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s une saison d’apprentissage, il aborde la saison 2008 en toute confiance au guidon de la Yamaha officielle du team de Michele Rinaldi. Leader du championnat depuis le second GP de la saison, il ne la c\u00e8dera qu’une semaine durant à Steve Ramon, au terme d’un GP de Lommel particuli\u00e8rement difficile.
\nR\u00e9gulier et souvent plus incisif que le champion du monde en titre, Philippaerts est mont\u00e9 sur 7 podiums et a remport\u00e9 2 GP. De quoi lui permettre de remporter un premier titre mondial devant Steve Ramon, trop souvent \u00e9loign\u00e9 des podiums que pour pouvoir pr\u00e9tendre à une seconde couronne cons\u00e9cutive.<\/p>\n

Excellente fin de saison pour Keeno<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pour peu, Ramon a m\u00eame failli perdre son titre de vice-champion au profit de son co\u00e9quipier Ken De Dijcker.
\nAuteur d’une solide fin de saison, Keeno avait en effet d\u00e9bord\u00e9 son chef de file apr\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re manche gr\u00e0\u00a2ce à une seconde place d\u00e9croch\u00e9e derri\u00e8re Nagl tandis que Ramon, incapable de remonter apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9part moyen, rentrait au 11\u00e8me rang.<\/p>\n

Dans la seconde manche, tandis que Nagl entame un nouveau cavalier seul et file vers sa premi\u00e8re victoire en GP, Ramon joue sa derni\u00e8re carte et assure une seconde place. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Philippaerts ne prend aucun risque et termine à la 9\u00e8me place. 5\u00e8me de cette seconde manche, De Dijcker redescend finalement sur la 3\u00e8me marche du podium final du championnat, à 5 petits points de Ramon.
\nSuzuki se console donc en pla\u00e7ant 2 pilotes sur le podium final et en remportant le titre constructeur.<\/p>\n

Jo\u00ebl Roelants sur le podium!<\/strong><\/p>\n

En MX2, la cause \u00e9tait d\u00e9jà pratiquement entendue pour Rattray qui a d’ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 sacr\u00e9 d\u00e8s l’arriv\u00e9e de la premi\u00e8re manche. Son dernier rival pour le titre, Tommy Searle, a quant à lui tenu à quitter le monde du MXGP par la grand porte puisqu’il signe le doubl\u00e9 dans ce qui sera vraisemblablement son dernier GP avant un bon bout de temps, le britannique s’envolant vers les USA d\u00e8s cet hiver.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

La bonne surprise en MX2 à Faenza, ce fut l’excellent comportement de notre compatriote Jo\u00ebl Roelants. 8\u00e8me de la premi\u00e8re manche avant de mener la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 de la seconde manche devant Searle puis de terminer second à 5 secondes de l’officiel KTM! Une prestation qui permet à Jo\u00ebl de monter sur son premier podium aux c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Rattray et de Searle.<\/p>\n

Quant à J\u00e9r\u00e9my Van Horebeek, il termine 5\u00e8me de la premi\u00e8re manche avant de devoir se contenter d’une 15\u00e8me place dans la seconde apr\u00e8s un mauvais d\u00e9part. Au championnat, il reste n\u00e9anmoins à une belle 8\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n
