Le titre de champion du monde MXGP avait \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 Antonio Cairoli la semaine derni\u00e8re au Br\u00e9sil et les autres places du podium \u00e9taient \u00e9galement connues avec la deuxi\u00e8me place de Jeremy Van Horebeek et la troisi\u00e8me place de Kevin Strijbos. Il restait un peu de suspens dans le classement du top-dix, notamment entre Max Nagl et Shaun Simpson. C\u2019est finalement l\u2019Allemand qui remporte la lutte entre les deux hommes avec un avantage de trois points sur le Britannique.
\nEn ce qui concerne le GP proprement dit, c\u2019est Gautier Paulin qui l\u2019emporte avec quarante-trois points devant Max Nagl qui totalise le m\u00eame nombre de points mais qui termine derri\u00e8re Paulin dans la deuxi\u00e8me manche. Le classement est serr\u00e9 puisque Cairoli pr\u00e9c\u00e8de Strijbos avec le m\u00eame nombre de points que le Belge (42), Van Horebeek terminant cinqui\u00e8me avec seulement trente-deux points..<\/p>\n

L\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de cette derni\u00e8re \u00e9preuve du championnat concernait surtout la cat\u00e9gorie MX2 avec la participation inattendue et pratiquement suicidaire de Jeffrey Herlings qui malgr\u00e9 sa fracture du f\u00e9mur encourue le vingt-et-un juillet dernier a voulu tenter un coup de poker en participant \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re \u00e9preuve du championnat pour tenter d\u2019emp\u00eacher son co-\u00e9quipier Jordi Tixier de remporter le titre. Herlings n\u2019est pas arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 ses fins, Tixier ayant remport\u00e9 le GP tandis que le Hollandais n\u2019empochait que la onzi\u00e8me place et dix-huit points. Pourtant, Tixier a eu tr\u00e8s chaud dans la deuxi\u00e8me manche. En effet, il a chut\u00e9 apr\u00e8s quelques tours et s’est fait d\u00e9passer notamment par Herlings. Tixier a alors fait preuve d’un courage extraordinaire en \u00a0remontant au classement et en terminant \u00e0 la troisi\u00e8me place, ce qui \u00e9tait suffisant pour remporter le GP mais surtout pour obtenir le titre mondial avec quatre points d’avance sur Herlings.<\/p>\n

On notera que le Belge Julien Lieber termine bien le championnat avec une belle sixi\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n
