Romain Febvre, l\u2019actuel leader du classement provisoire du championnat du monde MXGP a profit\u00e9 de la semaine qui a suivi le GP de Lettonie pour s\u2019entra\u00eener dans le sable en pr\u00e9vision des GP de Belgique (Lommel), d\u2019Italie (Mantova) et des Pays-Bas (Assen) qui auront lieu tous les trois durant le mois d\u2019ao\u00fbt et qui pr\u00e9c\u00e9deront les deux derniers GP situ\u00e9s sur le continent am\u00e9ricain, soit \u00e0 Leon (Mexique) et Glen Helen (Etats-Unis).<\/p>\n

A ce moment, le pilote fran\u00e7ais ne savait pas encore que Tony Cairoli allait d\u00e9cider de jeter l\u2019\u00e9ponge afin de pouvoir soigner convenablement son bras fractur\u00e9 et son avance qui est de quarante-et-un points sur le pilote italien \u00e9tait toujours susceptible d\u2019\u00eatre menac\u00e9e alors qu\u2019il reste trois-cent points \u00e0 disputer.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons test\u00e9 des suspensions sur le sable la semaine derni\u00e8re et tout s\u2019est bien pass\u00e9. Les r\u00e9glages de la fourche et de la suspension arri\u00e8re \u00e9taient d\u00e9j\u00e0 bons mais nous avons test\u00e9 quelques modifications qui se sont av\u00e9r\u00e9es efficaces,\u00a0\u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Febvre.\u00a0\u00bb Je veux r\u00e9aliser de bons r\u00e9sultats dans le sable et nous faisons tout pour qu\u2019il en soit ainsi.\u00a0\u00bb Romain sait aussi que le circuit de Loket sur lequel aura lieu le GP de la R\u00e9publique Tch\u00e8que ce week-end est un circuit dont le sol est dur et glissant de sorte qu\u2019il ne peut pas concentrer ses entra\u00eenements uniquement sur le sable. Pour la petite histoire, signalons aussi que la derni\u00e8re fois o\u00f9 le team Yamaha est all\u00e9 faire des tests qui avaient donn\u00e9 lieu \u00e0 des modifications sur le moteur du pilote fran\u00e7ais, celui-ci avait remport\u00e9 dans la foul\u00e9e les GP d\u2019Allemagne et de Su\u00e8de. \u00ab\u00a0Nous avons m\u00e9lang\u00e9 les types de circuit car nous avons encore Loket devant nous,\u00a0\u00bb a ajout\u00e9 Febvre.<\/p>\n

Le pilote Yamaha n\u2019est pas maladroit dans le sable. L\u2019an dernier, en MX2, il avait r\u00e9ussi deux troisi\u00e8mes places \u00e0 Valkenswaard et deux quatri\u00e8mes places \u00e0 Lommel. Sur le sol sablonneux de Kegums, apr\u00e8s une chute au d\u00e9part dans la premi\u00e8re manche, il a facilement remport\u00e9 la deuxi\u00e8me manche le week-end dernier. En fait, Febvre \u00e9tait conscient que c\u2019\u00e9tait sur des circuits sablonneux que Cairoli allait tenter de refaire son retard. Maintenant, avec le retrait de l\u2019Italien pour au moins deux GP, la voie est largement ouverte pour que Romain Febvre soit le premier rookie \u00e0 devenir champion du monde dans la cat\u00e9gorie reine depuis Cairoli lui-m\u00eame en 2009.<\/p>\n

En attendant, Romain a profit\u00e9 de son statut de pilote vedette pour prendre livraison cette semaine d\u2019un jet ski Yamaha personnalis\u00e9 avec les chiffres \u2018461\u2019 que lui a remis Yamaha Motor France.<\/p>\n
