Le quintuple champion du monde de motocross y occupera la fonction de \u00ab\u00a0Motocross Factory Racing Sports Director\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s plusieurs saisons pass\u00e9es chez Suzuki aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Kevin Strijbos et de Cl\u00e9ment Desalle, Jo\u00ebl Smets quittera donc les Jaunes la saison prochaine pour rejoindre la grande famille KTM. En collaboration avec les managers des structures MXGP et MX2, respectivement Claudio de Carli et Dirk Gruebel, notre compatriote g\u00e8rera le planning g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des teams factory et coordonnera les plannings d&rsquo;entra\u00eenement. Il sera \u00e9galement \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l&rsquo;atelier racing que KTM poss\u00e8de en Belgique.<\/p>\n<p>Les pilotes officiels de la marque autrichienne auront d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 leur disposition deux camps d&rsquo;entra\u00eenement: le premier bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Rome, le second bas\u00e9 chez nous, en Belgique. De quoi leur permettre de travailler dans les meilleures conditions durant toute l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e. Les quartiers g\u00e9n\u00e9raux de KTM en Autriche resteront pour leur part le lieu o\u00f9 les machines officielles seront construites et d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h5>Un mod\u00e8le<\/h5>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Je suis fier d&rsquo;avoir pu amener quelqu&rsquo;un comme Jo\u00ebl Smets \u00e0 cette nouvelle fonction chez KTM\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9clare Pit Beirer. \u00ab\u00a0J&rsquo;ai confiance dans le fait qu&rsquo;il pourra amener nos pilotes \u00e0 un niveau encore meilleur. Son exp\u00e9rience et son palmar\u00e8s parlent d&rsquo;eux-m\u00eames. C&rsquo;est un mod\u00e8le, tant pour nos pilotes confirm\u00e9s que pour les plus jeunes.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Figure embl\u00e9matique du motocross mondial, Jo\u00ebl Smets a conquis 2 titres mondiaux avec KTM, en 2000 et 2003. Il a pris le d\u00e9part de 168 GP et s&rsquo;est impos\u00e9 \u00e0 57 reprises.
