La Belgique a remport\u00e9 ce dimanche la 44\u00e8me \u00e9dition de la Coupe de l’Avenir. Emmen\u00e9e par un Nathan Renkens survolt\u00e9 sur le circuit de Baisieux, l’\u00e9quipe belge compl\u00e9t\u00e9e par les brillants Daymond Martens et Jago Geerts a fait preuve d’une consistance qu’aucun autre pays n’a pu revendiquer sur la piste. En 65cc, c’est le prometteur Liam Everts qui tire la Belgique \u00e0 une belle seconde place sur le podium final.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0J’ai encore du mal \u00e0 y croire !\u00a0\u00bb, nous lance, euphorique, Nathan Renkens en descendant du podium de la 44\u00e8me Coupe de l’Avenir, disput\u00e9e ce week-end sur le circuit de la ferme des Monts Baisieux. \u00ab\u00a0M’imposer aujourd’hui, j’en r\u00eavais. Quand on jette un oeil sur le palmar\u00e8s de la Coupe de l’Avenir, on a forc\u00e9ment envie d’ajouter son nom \u00e0 la liste. Alors, ajouter le mien aujourd’hui, c’est \u00e9videmment une \u00e9tape importante dans ma carri\u00e8re et cela restera comme un moment fort de cette saison 2015 qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 de loin ma meilleure saison jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent.\u00a0\u00bb En s’imposant aujourd’hui \u00e0 Baisieux, Nathan Renkens succ\u00e8de en effet \u00e0 Brent Van Doninck, vainqueur l’an pass\u00e9 de la Coupe de l’Avenir avant d’exploser cette ann\u00e9e en mondial MX2 mais aussi \u00e0 des dizaines d’autres grands noms du motocross, comme Stefan Everts, J\u00e9r\u00e9my Van Horebeek, Steve Ramon, C\u00e9dric Melotte, Eric Geboers ou Andr\u00e9 Malherbe, pour ne citer que ceux-l\u00e0 !<\/p>\n

Renkens et Martens aux avant-postes<\/h5>\n

En piste, sur une KTM 250 4-temps qui lui va d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment vraiment bien et sur laquelle il disputera le prochain championnat d’Europe 250cc (apr\u00e8s avoir disput\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e le championnat d’Europe 125cc), Renkens a \u00e9t\u00e9 imp\u00e9rial. Il remporte une premi\u00e8re manche tr\u00e8s disput\u00e9e apr\u00e8s avoir pris l’ascendant sur son co\u00e9quipier Daymond Martens, tr\u00e8s rapide lui aussi au guidon de sa Yamaha 450 et sur le Britannique James Harrison. Bien d\u00e9cid\u00e9 \u00e0 remettre le couvert dans la seconde, il part \u00e0 la faute en tout d\u00e9but de course. Mais loin de perdre pied, Renkens se lance \u00e0 la poursuite des hommes de t\u00eate et finit par reprendre son co\u00e9quipier Martens, alors second derri\u00e8re le Su\u00e9dois Alvin \u00d6stlund, l’adersaire sans doute le plus redoutable en piste pour nos deux compatriotes. C’est d’ailleurs \u00e0 nouveau lui qui sera le seul \u00e0 parvenir \u00e0 entrenir un semblant de suspens en troisi\u00e8me manche en gardant Renkens, tr\u00e8s vite pass\u00e9 en t\u00eate, en ligne de mire. Renkens r\u00e9alisera la course parfaite pour s’envoler vers son second succ\u00e8s de la journ\u00e9e et la victoire au classement individuel\u00a0 devant ce m\u00eame \u00d6stlund, Harrison et Martens, qui a cal\u00e9 son moteur dans la derni\u00e8re manche et se contentera d’une 7\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n

Jago Geerts impressionne !<\/h5>\n

Si Renkens et Martens ont jou\u00e9 les premiers r\u00f4les, la victoire belge ce dimanche \u00e0 la Coupe de l’Avenir s’est v\u00e9ritablement construite \u00e0 3 puisque le tout jeune Jago Geerts a lui aussi fait des merveilles au guidon de sa petite 125cc. Sacrifi\u00e9 lors des d\u00e9parts et forc\u00e9ment handicap\u00e9 par la puissance de sa machine face aux 250 et 450 4-temps, notre jeune compatriote s’est battu comme un lion pour accrocher deux superbes 8\u00e8mes places dans les deux premi\u00e8res manches avant, moins bien parti, de terminer 14\u00e8me dans la derni\u00e8re. Un r\u00e9sultat \u00e9poustouflant pour l’ancien champion d’Europe 85cc qui a fait en sorte de rendre la Belgique pratiquement intouchable ce dimanche au classement par \u00e9quipes nationales.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0On a rarement eu une \u00e9quipe aussi homog\u00e8ne ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb, analysait en fin de journ\u00e9e Yves Devlaminck, le coach sportif de la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration nationale. \u00ab\u00a0Ils ont tous les trois livr\u00e9 de super manches et ils m\u00e9ritaient de s’imposer aujourd’hui. Je suis heureux pour eux, cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 du vrai travail d’\u00e9quipe. Je suis content en particulier pour Nathan Renkens. Il a connu des hauts et des bas ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es mais c’est un bosseur. Il a beaucoup travaill\u00e9 pour arriver au niveau qu’il affiche aujourd’hui et cette victoire est une belle r\u00e9compense. En 65cc, notre seconde place est plut\u00f4t une bonne surprise !\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Car oui, les Belges sont \u00e9galement mont\u00e9s sur le podium chez les 65cc o\u00f9 Liam Everts, dont le grand-p\u00e8re Harry et le p\u00e8re Stefan se sont tous les deux d\u00e9j\u00e0 impos\u00e9s dans la Coupe de l’Avenir, a brill\u00e9 en prenant la deuxi\u00e8me place du classement individuel derri\u00e8re l’intouchable Allemand Simon L\u00e4ngenfleder. Avec la tr\u00e8s belle 10\u00e8me place de Yoran Moens et la 17\u00e8me position de Pako Destercq, la prestation du plus jeune du clan Everts hisse la Belgique sur la deuxi\u00e8me marche du podium derri\u00e8re l’Allemagne et in extremis devant la France, 3\u00e8me.<\/p>\n
