Un soleil printannier innondait la plaine de Lommel ce dimanche pour la premi\u00e8re \u00e9preuve du \u00ab\u00a0Challenger Trophy\u00a0\u00bb 2016 organis\u00e9e par le team Mikkola. Pour les pilotes des cat\u00e9gories nationales, Lommel \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 la 3\u00e8me manche de leur championnat apr\u00e8s Moerbeke et Wuustwezel. Sur un circuit de Lommel particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9fonc\u00e9 et donc tr\u00e8s \u00e9prouvant, on a assist\u00e9 \u00e0 de belles courses dans chacune des cat\u00e9gories. Chez les Inters, Yentel Martens a domin\u00e9 les manches MX1 tandis que Cyril Genot et Bas Vaessen se sont partag\u00e9 les victoires en MX2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deux d\u00e9part entre la 5 et la 10\u00e8me place n’ont pas emp\u00each\u00e9 Yentel Martens de revenir \u00e0 chaque fois sur le leader Nick Triest, auteur d’un excellent week-end lui aussi avec deux secondes places, pour s’imposer assez facilement dans les deux manches. Dans son jardin, le pilote Husqvarna s’offre un tr\u00e8s beau doubl\u00e9 devant Triest et le Su\u00e9dois Rasmus Sj\u00f6berg.<\/p>\n

\"lommel_start_inters_FMB\"<\/p>\n

En MX2, Cyril Genot, qui dispute sa premi\u00e8re saison en 250 sur la KTM du team Silver Action, r\u00e9alise une tr\u00e8s belle premi\u00e8re manche qu’il m\u00e8ne de bout en bout. Le pilote KTM a bien vu revenir dangereusement sur lui Bas Vaessen \u00e0 la mi-course mais le pilote Suzuki est parti \u00e0 la faute en voulant placer une attaque sur Genot, qui n’a plus eu qu’\u00e0 g\u00e9rer son avantage pour s’imposer.<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e8s rapide dans le sable, Cyril Genot place sa KTM en seconde position en Inters MX2.<\/p><\/div>\n

Vaessen prendra sa revanche d\u00e8s la seconde manche. Le jeune Hollandais ne se laissera cette fois plus surprendre et ne tardera pas \u00e0 d\u00e9border Genot, \u00e0 nouveau parti en t\u00eate. Il se m\u00e9nagera alors rapidement un avantage confortable et s’offre une victoire de manche qui lui permet de monter sur la plus haute marche du podium devant Cyril Genot, \u00e0 \u00e9galit\u00e9 de points avec le vainqueur, et un autre Hollandais, Freek Van Der Vlist (6+3).<\/p>\n

Vainqueur \u00e0 Valkenswaard de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9preuve du championnat d’Europe 250, le N\u00e9o-Z\u00e9landais Josiah Natzke (3+6) termine au pied du podium.<\/p>\n

Le Hollandais Bas Vaessen et sa Suzuki ont remport\u00e9 la cat\u00e9gorie MX2 \u00e0 Lommel.<\/p><\/div>\n

Joey Smet (MX1) et Jago Geerts (MX2) remportent les classements r\u00e9serv\u00e9s aux pilotes Nationaux, lesquel s’alignent sur les \u00e9preuves du Challenger Trophy avec les Inters.<\/p>\n

Dans les autres cat\u00e9gories, on notera le succ\u00e8s en Espoirs de Ludovic Bral (1+2) devant Glenn Bielen et Tallon Verhelst.<\/p>\n
