L’\u00e9quipage compos\u00e9 de Nathan Renkens, Cyril Genot et Wietse Brackman a franchi ce dimanche midi en t\u00eate la ligne d’arriv\u00e9e de la 37\u00e8me \u00e9dition des 12 Heures de la Chinelle. La Husqvarna 450 pr\u00e9c\u00e8de la Yamaha du trio Melotte\/Martens Magain. Comme l’an pass\u00e9, les prot\u00e9g\u00e9s de Philippe Blondiau \u00e9chouent de peu. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les seuls \u00e0 parvenir \u00e0 entretenir le suspens jusqu’au bout.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Samedi minuit, c’est pourtant C\u00e9dric Cremer qui repassait en t\u00eate de la meute. Le Bomalois retrouvait cette ann\u00e9e Thierry Klutz et Vincent Collet, avec qui il avait sign\u00e9 son premier succ\u00e8s \u00e0 Franchimont il y a 2 ans. Un \u00e9quipage KTM Belgique qui faisait donc logiquement figure de favori, au m\u00eame titre que la Yamaha Motocross Action de C\u00e9dric Melotte et de ses jeunes co\u00e9quipiers Daymond Martens et Antoine Magain. Les Yamaha-boys avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 les seuls \u00e0 parvenir \u00e0 pousser la KTM de Klutz et Cremer dans ses derniers retranchements l’an pass\u00e9, s’inclinant pratiquement au sprint sur l’esplanade de Franchimont.<\/p>\n

Comme Cyril Genot, Nathan Renkens d\u00e9couvrait non seulement la Chinelle mais aussi le pilotage d’une 450…<\/p><\/div>\n

Il y avait donc de la revanche dans l’air chez Yamaha ce week-end. Comme Klutz, C\u00e9dric Melotte avait bien envie de conclure sa derni\u00e8re Chinelle sur la plus haute marche du podium. Le danger pouvait venir de partout, \u00e9videmment, mais il est clair que la KTM de Klutz\/Cremer\/Collet semblait la plus dangereuse pour la 450 WR-F pr\u00e9par\u00e9e par Philippe Blondiau. Personne n’a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 surpris de voir Cremer prendre les commandes en d\u00e9but de nuit et on s’est rapidement cru repartir pour le mano a mano de 2015 entre la Yam et la KTM.<\/p>\n

Mais la suite ne s’est pas vraiment d\u00e9roul\u00e9e comme pr\u00e9vu pour la KTM 500 officielle. Des probl\u00e8mes de plaque-phare ont co\u00fbt\u00e9 quelques poign\u00e9es de secondes au trio et un mod\u00e8le 2017 de la EXC 500 un peu d\u00e9licate \u00e0 apprivoiser ne permettait pas \u00e0 l’\u00e9quipage victorieux en 2014 de conserver longtemps le leadership.<\/p>\n

Si les positions restent tr\u00e8s serr\u00e9es entre les 6 machines de t\u00eate, d\u00e8s 3 heures du matin, on comprend que le danger pour la Yamaha de Melotte viendra davantage de la Husqvarna n\u00b027. Celle manag\u00e9e par Wim Vanderheyden. Wim a jou\u00e9 la carte de la jeunesse en faisant confiance aux crossmentGenot, Renkens (engag\u00e9 l’avant-veille de l’\u00e9preuve en remplacement d’un pilote bless\u00e9…) et Brackman. Les jeunes ont les dents longues et descendent les chronos. Malgr\u00e9 quelques petites erreurs, Renkens ram\u00e8ne la Husky en t\u00eate \u00e0 l’entame de la 4\u00e8me heure de course. Une surprise.<\/p>\n

Le duel va alors s’engager entre les deux machines de t\u00eate, le leadership changeant au rythme des passages par les stands ou des petites m\u00e9saventures, comme celle de C\u00e9dric Melotte qui, alors qu’il venait de prendre la t\u00eate de la course, chutait dans un appui et perdait pr\u00e8s d’une minute dans la manoeuvre.<\/p>\n

La Husqvarna reprend la t\u00eate dans la derni\u00e8re demi-heure<\/h5>\n

Alors que l’on rentre dans la derni\u00e8re demi-heure de course, la Yamaha est en t\u00eate avec une petite vingtaine de seconde d’avance. Mais elle doit encore imp\u00e9rativement effectuer un passage par les stands alors que Renkens n’a plu qu’\u00e0 aligner les tours pour amener sur Husqvarna jusqu’\u00e0 l’arriv\u00e9e. Alors qu’il reste 2 tours, la Yamaha repasse par l’all\u00e9e des stands et voit par la m\u00eame occasion Nathan Renkens prendre une cinquantaine de secondes d’avance. Les jeux \u00e9taient d\u00e9finitivement faits et c’est fou de joie que le jeune crossman, qui, comme Genot d\u00e9couvrait l’\u00e9preuve, franchissait en vainqueur le drapeau \u00e0 damiers. Arrivaient ensuite un Daymond Martens forc\u00e9ment d\u00e9\u00e7u d’\u00e9chouer une fois de plus si pr\u00e8s du but et C\u00e9dric Cremer, \u00e0 un tour du leader.<\/p>\n

Le top-5 est compl\u00e9t\u00e9 par la KTM d’Andrew Leloup, Andy Truyts et Kevin Viellevoye et la deuxi\u00e8me Husqvarna officielle, celle de J\u00e9r\u00f4me Martiny, auteur du meilleur chrono dans les essais samedi soir, Gauthier Lillo et Arnaud Englebert.<\/p>\n

A nouveau un final \u00e0 suspens donc pour cette 37\u00e8me \u00e9dition des 12 Heures de la Chinelle et, surtout, un podium qui apporte pas mal de sang neuf \u00e0 l’\u00e9preuve avec la victoire surprise de Renkens, Genot et Brackman, dont la moyenne d’\u00e2ge n’atteint pas les 20 ans et la seconde place des jeunes Magain et Martens aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d’un C\u00e9dric Melotte que l’on ne devrait malheureusement plus revoir sur l’\u00e9preuve.<\/p>\n

Notons qu’il s’agit de la toute premi\u00e8re victoire de Husqvarna aux 12 Heures de la Chinelle.<\/p>\n
