Si Kevin Strijbos a d\u00fb laisser la victoire ce dimanche \u00e0 Kester \u00e0 Jeffrey Herlings, le pilote Suzuki s’est en revanche assur\u00e9 du titre de champion de Belgique 2016. Il s’agit d’un premier titre national pour Strijbos. En MX2, c’est Kevin Wouts qui enl\u00e8ve le titre.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Avec 4 pilotes s\u00e9par\u00e9s par 14 points seulement, la finale du championnat de Belgique 2016 qui avait lieu ce dimanche sur le tout nouveau circuit de Kester promettait d’\u00eatre disput\u00e9e. En arrivant dans le Brabant flamand, c’est Brent Van Doninck qui menait la danse avec un petit avantage de 7 points sur Damon Graulus. A 10 points, Kevin Strijbos occupait la 3\u00e8me place tandis que 2 points de plus s\u00e9paraient Steve Ramon de la t\u00eate de la course.<\/p>\n

D\u00e8s les entra\u00eenements matinaux, Damon Graulus \u00e9tait \u00e9limin\u00e9 de la course au titre. Victime d’une chute, le pilote 24MX Honda quittait en effet pr\u00e9cipitamment le circuit de Kester avec un scapho\u00efde fractur\u00e9. Sur une Yamaha 450 pour l’occasion (afin de pouvoir prendre de bons d\u00e9parts mais aussi en vue de pr\u00e9parer le Motocross des Nations), Van Doninck pouvait donc se concentrer sur celui qui serait vraisemblablement son adversaire le plus s\u00e9rieux dans la course au titre: Kevin Strijbos.<\/p>\n

\"Vainqueur

Vainqueur de 2 des 3 manches \u00e0 Kester, Jeffrey Herlings s’y impose devant Strijbos et Van Horebeek.<\/p><\/div>\n

L’officiel Suzuki annon\u00e7ait la couleur d\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re manche en menant la course d\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res boucles pour ne plus quitter le leadership et s’imposer devant Jeffrey Herlings et sa KTM 450. A 20 secondes des deux leaders, Steve Ramon prend la 3\u00e8me place devant Jeremy Van Horebeek et un surprenant Dennis Verbruggen.\u00a0 Sixi\u00e8me apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9part moyen, Brent Van Doninck voit son avantage fondre comme neige au soleil et Strijbos revenir \u00e0 sa hauteur au classement provisoire avant d’entamer les deux derni\u00e8res manches de la saison.<\/p>\n

Herlings et Van Horebeek donnent le rythme<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Jeffrey Herlings et J\u00e9r\u00e9my Van Horebeek, le premier sur une KTM 450, le second sur une Yamaha 250 avec laquelle il roulera au Motocross des Nations la semaine prochaine \u00e0 Maggiora, seront les grands animateurs des deux manches suivantes \u00e0 Kester. Tr\u00e8s incisif au guidon de la petite Yamaha, Van Horebeek reste mena\u00e7ant jusqu’au drapeau \u00e0 damiers dans la seconde manche et s’incline pour moins de 2 secondes face \u00e0 Herlings. Strijbos a mis quelques tours \u00e0 trouver l’ouverture face \u00e0 Steve Ramon mais il assure une 3\u00e8me place devant l’ancien double champion du monde et se construit ainsi un petit avantage de 6 points sur Van Doninck, \u00e0 nouveau parti dans le peloton et 7\u00e8me seulement sur la ligne d’arriv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Alors que Herlings et Van Horebeek se livrent un nouveau mano a mano dans les premiers tours de la derni\u00e8re manche de la saison, Kevin Strijbos s’installe rapidement \u00e0 la 3\u00e8me place. Le pilote Suzuki n’est cependant pas en mesure de suivre le rythme des deux leaders et roule isol\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 ce que Van Horebeek ne commette une petite faute \u00e0 mi-course et ne voit Strijbos revenir juste derri\u00e8re lui. En t\u00eate, Herlings a le champ libre et assure un deuxi\u00e8me succ\u00e8s qui lui vaut de monter sur la plus haute marche du podium du jour devant Strijbos et Van Horebeek.<\/p>\n

Premier titre national pour Strijbos<\/h5>\n

Brent Van Doninck n’a pour sa part pas pu d\u00e9fendre ses chanches jusqu’au bout. Le pilote Yamaha a en effet \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d’une panne m\u00e9canique d\u00e8s les premiers tours de la 3\u00e8me manche. Il laisse donc le titre de champion de Belgique 2016 \u00e0 Kevin Strijbos qui remporte le championnat devant son co\u00e9quipier Steve Ramon. Strijbos succ\u00e8de donc \u00e0 Jeremy Van Horebeek au prestigieux palmar\u00e8s du championnat de Belgique, auquel il inscrit son nom pour la premi\u00e8re fois de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

En MX2, c’est Kevin Wouts, vainqueur \u00e0 3 reprises \u00e0 Kester du classement de la cat\u00e9gorie, qui est titr\u00e9 devant le Hollandais Mark Boot.<\/p>\n
