Le fils du quintuple champion du monde Jo\u00ebl Smets a jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent surtout brill\u00e9 dans les rangs des cat\u00e9gories nationales de la FMB. A Teutschenthal, il s&rsquo;appr\u00eate \u00e0 passer \u00e0 la vitesse sup\u00e9rieure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Je ressens un peu de stress, mais il s&rsquo;agit de stress positif. Je crois que c&rsquo;est tout \u00e0 fait normal\u00a0\u00bb, confie Greg Smets \u00e0 quelques heures de sa premi\u00e8re apparition sur le championnat d&rsquo;Europe 300. \u00ab\u00a0En tout cas, j&rsquo;attends cette course avec impatience !\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Je n&rsquo;ai pas vraiment chang\u00e9 ma fa\u00e7on de m&rsquo;entra\u00eener pour l&rsquo;occasion\u00a0\u00bb, poursuit-il. \u00ab\u00a0Je n&rsquo;ai rien fait de plus, je me suis content\u00e9 de rouler davantage sur des circuits durs afin de me pr\u00e9parer sur une surface comparable \u00e0 celle de Teutschenthal.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s une premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e au guidon d&rsquo;une 450cc en 2016, Greg se voyait l&rsquo;hiver dernier conseill\u00e9 par son p\u00e8re de tenter l&rsquo;aventure de la 250cc 2-temps. \u00ab\u00a0Et je dois dire que je suis tr\u00e8s heureux d&rsquo;avoir fait ce choix. Au d\u00e9part, j&rsquo;ai d\u00fb trouver mes rep\u00e8res car je n&rsquo;avais jamais roul\u00e9 sur une machine 2-temps auparavant. A pr\u00e9sent, je me sens vraiment bien au guidon de ma moto. En fait, je me rends compte que chaque motorisation, 2-temps ou 4-temps, pr\u00e9sente un certain nombre d&rsquo;avantages et d&rsquo;inconv\u00e9nients.<\/p>\n<p>Une premi\u00e8re exp\u00e9rience internationale dont Greg attend avant tout de d\u00e9couvrir l&rsquo;univers des \u00e9preuves europ\u00e9ennes. \u00ab\u00a0Je n&rsquo;ai pas r\u00e9ellement de grandes ambitions. Je vais bien s\u00fbr tout faire pour rouler deux bonnes manches en Allemagne mais je vais aussi veiller \u00e0 ne pas me blesser et \u00e0 \u00e9viter les p\u00e9pins m\u00e9caniques. Je n&rsquo;ai pas pour le moment de vue sur une carri\u00e8re internationale.
