Jeffrey Herlings a remport\u00e9 ce dimanche le GP des USA \u00e0 Jacksonville. L’officiel KTM s’impose devant le tout nouveau champion US Eli Tomac et le probable champion du monde MXGP 2017 Antonio Cairoli. Avec 96 points d’avance alors qu’il n’en reste que 100 \u00e0 distribuer sur les deux derniers GP de la saison en Hollande et en France, l’Italien touche du bout des doigts un neuvi\u00e8me sacre mondial.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jeffrey Herlings ne regrettera certainement pas son voyage aux USA. Invit\u00e9 surprise de la finale de l’outdoor US \u00e0 Ironman le week-end pass\u00e9, le Hollandais y avait remport\u00e9 un doubl\u00e9 historique. Pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant assurer le titre 450 plut\u00f4t que de prendre le risque de disputer la victoire au duo KTM Herlings\/Musquin \u00e0 Ironman, Eli Tomac \u00e9tait dans une situation fort diff\u00e9rente ce week-end \u00e0 Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Van Horebeek termine le GP des USA \u00e0 la 9\u00e8me place.<\/p><\/div>\n

Prudent samedi apr\u00e8s-midi dans la manche qualificative, le pilote Kawasaki changeait de ton d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part de la premi\u00e8re manche. Il s’installait aux commandes devant Gajser et Nagl pendant que Herlings, mal parti, sortait le grand jeu pour revenir rapidement dans le trio de t\u00eate et s’installer \u00e0 la deuxi\u00e8me place d\u00e8s le 6\u00e8me tour. Mais Tomac va vite et il s’isole en t\u00eate pour franchir le drapeau \u00e0 damiers avec pr\u00e8s de 30 secondes d’avance sur Herlings et Cairoli, install\u00e9 en 3\u00e8me place peu avant la mi-course.<\/p>\n

Loins de se laisser impressionner par le champion US, Antonio Cairoli et Jeffrey Herlings s’envolent en t\u00eate de la seconde manche et impriment leur rythme \u00e0 la course. Troisi\u00e8me, Tomac terminera cette fois \u00e0 une trentaine de secondes de Herlings, lequel a pris le meilleur sur Cairoli dans le 10\u00e8me tour pour s’isoler ensuite en t\u00eate. De quoi le contraindre \u00e0 se contenter de la seconde marche du podium derri\u00e8re Jeffrey Herlings, d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment intraitable ces derni\u00e8res semaines.<\/p>\n

Kevin Strijbos signe une tr\u00e8s belle seconde manche \u00e0 Jacksonville !<\/p><\/div>\n

Rapidement contraint \u00e0 l’abandon en premi\u00e8re manche, Kevin Strijbos signe dans la seconde sa plus belle course sur le championnat MXGP depuis longtemps. L’officiel Suzuki profite d’un bon d\u00e9part pour franchir la ligne d’arriv\u00e9e en 5\u00e8me position devant Max Anstie, visiblement bien remis de sa grosse chute hier en manche qualificative, et Tim Gajser. Au g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, le meilleur Belge en Floride est Cl\u00e9ment Desalle, 7\u00e8me, tandis que Jeremy Van Horebeek termine la journ\u00e9e \u00e0 la 9\u00e8me place.<\/p>\n

Notons que Gautier Paulin, victime d’une chute spectaculaire (voir la vid\u00e9o<\/a>) alors qu’il occupait la 12\u00e8me place, termine la premi\u00e8re manche \u00e0 la 20\u00e8me place seulement, ce dont profite Desalle pour revenir \u00e0 un petit point de la 3\u00e8me place du Fran\u00e7ais au classement provisoire du championnat.<\/p>\n

Enfin, victime d’une lourde chute en premi\u00e8re manche, Romain F\u00e8bvre, souffrant du cou, a pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 ne pas prendre le d\u00e9part de la deuxi\u00e8me. Il devrait passer des examens m\u00e9dicaux cette semaine afin d’\u00e9valuer avec pr\u00e9cision les cons\u00e9quences de cette chute.<\/p>\n
