Un peu moins de 4 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 la nage, 180 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 v\u00e9lo puis 42 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 pied, cela vous tente ? C’est pourtant ce qui attend Emmanuel Hubert en juin prochain. L’ancien crossman se pr\u00e9pare en effet activement \u00e0 participer \u00e0 l’Ironman de Nice, en France. Une discipline qu’il a d\u00e9couverte un peu par hasard l’\u00e9t\u00e9 dernier.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chassez le naturel et il revient au galop. Apr\u00e8s avoir mis en 2010 un terme \u00e0 sa fructueuse carri\u00e8re en motocross, avec notamment de nombreux succ\u00e8s \u00e0 l’AMPL mais aussi des participations en championnat du monde, le Bastognard pensait en avoir termin\u00e9 avec la comp\u00e9tition. Bien s\u00fbr, Manu reste sportif dans l’\u00e2me et une fois le motocross derri\u00e8re lui, c’est sur un VTT qu’il garde contact avec les sensations du 2 roues et du tout-terrain. \u00ab\u00a0Le motocross et le VTT sont deux disciplines qui ont finalement de nombreux points communs\u00a0\u00bb, explique-t-il. \u00ab\u00a0Les sensations sont assez similaires et il faut parfois avoir le coeur bien accroch\u00e9 !\u00a0\u00bb Mais les simples sorties \u00e0 VTT sont rapidement remplac\u00e9es par des participations au championnat d’enduro VTT. Avec des titres de vice-champion de Belgique puis de Wallonie \u00e0 la cl\u00e9 ces deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

A pr\u00e9sent, c’est un nouveau d\u00e9fi que se lance l’ancien crossman : celui de participer \u00e0 l’Ironman de Nice au mois de juin 2018. Un sacr\u00e9 challenge ! \u00ab\u00a0A v\u00e9lo, je me d\u00e9brouille. Par contre, pour ce qui est de la nage et de la course \u00e0 pied, j’ai tout \u00e0 apprendre\u00a0\u00bb, commente-t-il. Le pari, lanc\u00e9 sur un coup de t\u00eate apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9couvert lors de ses vacances d’\u00e9t\u00e9 par hasard le triathlon, a beau para\u00eetre un peu fou, Manu le prend tr\u00e8s au s\u00e9rieux. Il travaille dur pour arriver pr\u00eat le 24 juin prochain et, surtout, a su s’entourer de sp\u00e9cialistes. Comme l’ancienne nageuse de haut niveau Audrey Maheu ou le triathl\u00e8te Fran\u00e7ois Reding. Deux coaches de premier choix qui suivent de pr\u00eat son entra\u00eenement.<\/p>\n

Il reste tout juste six mois \u00e0 Manu Hubert pour arriver pr\u00e9par\u00e9 comme il se doit sur la ligne de d\u00e9part de son premier Ironman. Une distance mythique qui fait r\u00eaver tous les passionn\u00e9s d’efforts de longue haleine.<\/p>\n
