A domicile ce week-end \u00e0 Kegums, Pauls Jonass esp\u00e9rait sans doute pouvoir poursuivre sur la lanc\u00e9e du GP de Russie et offrir la victoire ce dimanche au public letton. Le champion du monde MX2 en titre et leader du classement provisoire a cependant d\u00fb se contenter de la 3\u00e8me marche du podium.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tr\u00e8s \u00e0 l’aise dans le sable de Kegums, c’est Thomas Kjer Olsen qui, comme l’an pass\u00e9, s’est offert la victoire. Avec une victoire en premi\u00e8re manche puis une deuxi\u00e8me place derri\u00e8re Jorge Prado, le Danois du team de Jacky Martens inscrit ainsi une deuxi\u00e8me victoire en GP \u00e0 son palmar\u00e8s.<\/p>\n

Mais le fait marquant du week-end pour les supporters belges comme pour de nombreux observateurs, c’est assur\u00e9ment le podium de Jago Geerts. Dans sa premi\u00e8re saison MX2 cette ann\u00e9e, le pilote Kemea Yamaha monte pour la premi\u00e8re fois sur le podium d’un GP. Parti en 8\u00e8me position dans la premi\u00e8re manche, il remontera jusqu’en 4\u00e8me position. Dans la deuxi\u00e8me manche, le leader du championnat de Hollande MX2 partait dans la roue de Jorge Prado et ne subira que le retour de Thomas Kjer Olsen, parti 4\u00e8me et \u00e0 qui il c\u00e8dera sa seconde place \u00e0 la mi-course.<\/p>\n

Hunter Lawrence contraint au forfait<\/h5>\n

De retour de blessure \u00e0 Kegums ce week-end, Hunter Lawrence avait rassur\u00e9 hier dans la manche qualificative en prenant la deuxi\u00e8me place derri\u00e8re Prado. H\u00e9las, l’Australien chutait en premi\u00e8re manche sur la t\u00eate et pr\u00e9f\u00e9rait ne prendre aucun risque en ne prenant pas le d\u00e9part de la seconde manche.<\/p>\n

Au championnat, Jonass profite de la premi\u00e8re manche en demi-teinte de Prado (10+1) pour reprendre 2 points \u00e0 l’Espagnol et porter son avantage \u00e0 22 points. Jago Geerts occupe quant \u00e0 lui d\u00e9sormais le 7\u00e8me fauteuil.<\/p>\n

Le 8\u00e8me round du championnat du monde MX2 se disputera d\u00e8s le week-end prochain en Allemagne, sur le circuit de Teutschenthal.<\/p>\n
