Avec la bagatelle de 45 titres nationaux \u00e0\u00a0 son actif, le fabricant de l&rsquo;\u00e9tat d&rsquo;Ohio, dans le mid-west des Etats-Unis, r\u00e9volutionne le monde du cross pour enfants de l&rsquo;autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l&rsquo;Atlantique en s&rsquo;investissant dans le monde des kids comme jamais aucune autre marque ne l&rsquo;avait fait avant lui.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque, au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 90, Bud Maimone commenc a faire rouler son fils Brent en comp\u00e9tition, il constate que les mini-machines de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque, pour la plupart d\u00e9riv\u00e9es de motos de loisir, sont finalement peu performantes et souvent peu fiables. Il se met donc en t\u00eate de convaincre l&rsquo;un ou l&rsquo;autre fabricant de produire une machine \u00ab\u00a0ready to race\u00a0\u00bb. C&rsquo;est en effet sous ce nom que, d\u00e8s 1993, Bud Maimone commence \u00e0\u00a0 produire ses propres motos. Avec le succ\u00e8s que l&rsquo;on sait. Depuis, la marque s&rsquo;est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e et fabrique aujourd&rsquo;hui aux USA des machines qui ont tout de v\u00e9ritables machines de comp\u00e9tition, version mini.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cobra impressionne<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ceux qui suivent avec attention les courses r\u00e9serv\u00e9es aux kids se souviennent sans doute de Ben Watson et de sa Cobra 50cc avec laquelle il avait survol\u00e9 en 2004 et 2005 le World Mini Trophy \u00e0\u00a0 Jamoigne. Le pilotage du petit Britannique avait fait sensation tout autant que les performances ahurissantes de sa petite 50cc jaune frapp\u00e9e du sigle Cobra.\u00a0A c\u00f4t\u00e9 de ses rivales, cette petite Cobra semblait \u00eatre un vrai b\u00e0\u00a2ton de dynamite!<\/p>\n<p>Une marque encore pratiquement inconnue chez nous \u00e0\u00a0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque mais qui est aujourd&rsquo;hui disponible en Belgique gr\u00e0\u00a2ce au dynamisme de Michel Vandommele et de Beno\u00eet Monseu (TM Racing), qui n&rsquo;ont pas h\u00e9sit\u00e9 \u00e0\u00a0 importer la marque am\u00e9ricaine, distribu\u00e9e depuis peu via le r\u00e9seau des dealers officiels TM.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-8210\" title=\"C'est Florent Devalck qui s'est charg\u00e9 de nous faire la d\u00e9monstration du potentiel des petites Cobra.\" src=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_devalck.jpg\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_devalck.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27600%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20400%20600%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27600%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_devalck-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_devalck.jpg 400w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-orig-sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pour nous, cette arriv\u00e9e en Belgique de Cobra est l&rsquo;occasion de faire plus ample connaissance avec ces petites machines pas comme les autres. C&rsquo;est Florent Devalck, qui pilote une Cobra 65cc au PCNA et qui s&rsquo;est illustr\u00e9 cet \u00e9t\u00e9 en montant sur la 3\u00e8me marche du podium en finale Or au MX Master Kids \u00e0\u00a0 Commercy, qui nous fait la d\u00e9monstration.<\/p>\n<p>A l&rsquo;arr\u00eat d\u00e9j\u00e0\u00a0, difficile de ne pas ressentir l&rsquo;esprit \u00ab\u00a0Ready to race\u00a0\u00bb qui a pr\u00e9valu lorsque Bud Maimone a imagin\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re Cobra il y a plus de 17 ans. Les belles pi\u00e8ces en aluminium taill\u00e9es dans la masse ou usin\u00e9es avec soin ne manquent pas et l&rsquo;\u00e9quipement des machines est de premier ordre, avec notamment du Marzocchi invers\u00e9 \u00e0\u00a0 l&rsquo;avant, du \u00e0\u2013hlins \u00e0\u00a0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re, des freins \u00e0\u00a0 disque \u00ab\u00a0oversize\u00a0\u00bb, une bo\u00eete \u00e0\u00a0 clapets V-Force, de superbes \u00e9chappements\u00a0ou encore une commande d&#8217;embrayage hydraulique sur la 65cc.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-8218\" title=\"Le travail effectu\u00e9 sur les moteurs des mod\u00e8les 2010 a permis de gagner encore en souplesse.\" src=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action2.jpg\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27500%27%20height%3D%27346%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20500%20346%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27500%27%20height%3D%27346%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action2-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action2.jpg 500w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-orig-sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Des prestations de tr\u00e8s haut niveau<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Du tr\u00e8s haut de gamme pour des machines qui offrent des prestations du m\u00eame niveau. Quelques tours de circuit effectu\u00e9s par Florent suffisent \u00e0\u00a0 nous convaincre du potentiel du bloc 65cc 6 vitesses de la Cobra. Une machine que le Braban\u00e7on appr\u00e9cie pour la souplesse de son moteur et ses excellentes suspension. La pr\u00e9cision et la solidit\u00e9 de la bo\u00eete de vitesse sont \u00e9galement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9es par notre jeune pilote qui avoue ne pas toujours \u00eatre tr\u00e8s tendre avec le s\u00e9lecteur&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-8217\" title=\"Les Cobra 50 et 65cc placent la barre tr\u00e8s haut dans leurs cat\u00e9gories respectives.\" src=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action1.jpg\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27600%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20400%20600%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27600%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/fr.motocrossmag.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/cobra_action1.jpg 400w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-orig-sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>De retour\u00a0sur la\u00a050cc pour quelques tours, Florent remarque une \u00e9volution sensible au niveau du moteur, le bloc 2010 offrant davantage de souplesse et se montrant moins agressif que la version 2010. Ici aussi, la partie-cycle est exceptionnelle pour une 50cc et les suspensions, dont l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re est enti\u00e8rement r\u00e9glable, font de l&rsquo;excellent travail. Notez que cette Cobra CX 50cc est disponible aussi bien en petites (10&rsquo;\/10&prime;) que grandes (12&rsquo;\/10&prime;) roues.<\/p>\n<p>Avec ses CX 50 et 65cc, le fabricant US porte assur\u00e9ment le monde des mini-motos \u00e0\u00a0 un niveau de performances jamais atteint, gr\u00e0\u00a2ce \u00e0\u00a0 des machines d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es pour gagner.
