Ce dimanche, \u00e0\u00a0 Lakewood, dans le cadre du Motocross des Nations, les Etats-Unis ont remport\u00e9 leur vingt-et-uni\u00e8me titre, le sixi\u00e8me de rang. Cette victoire est largement m\u00e9rit\u00e9e et n’a surpris personne. D\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re manche, en effet, Ryan Dungey a montr\u00e9 qu’il ne laisserait que des miettes \u00e0\u00a0 ses concurrents, dussent-ils s’appeler Antonio Cairoli et \u00eatre champion du monde. Dungey a \u00e9t\u00e9 la v\u00e9ritable locomotive de l’\u00e9quipe US, remportant nettement les deux manches auxquelles il a particip\u00e9. D\u00e8s lors qu’il a pu compter sur des co\u00e9quipiers\u00a0r\u00e9guliers sans \u00eatre g\u00e9niaux (Short et Canard), la messe \u00e9tait dite.<\/p>\n

En fait, deux pays ont vraiment cr\u00e9\u00e9 la surprise hier \u00e0\u00a0 Lakewood : les Allemands, qui \u00e9taient les vainqueurs virtuels au terme de la seconde manche mais qui ont du composer avec un abandon de Max Nagl et les Fran\u00e7ais, qui sont pass\u00e9s \u00e0\u00a0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de leur sujet suite notamment \u00e0\u00a0 un double abandon du champion du monde MX2, Marvin Musquin.<\/p>\n

Nos compatriotes se sont montr\u00e9s r\u00e9guliers et ont fait ce qu’on attendait d’eux devant une \u00e9quipe am\u00e9ricaine au-dessus du lot de par son leader, Dungey. Il ne faut d\u00e8s lors pas nourrir de regrets quand on a (bien) fait son travail et on f\u00e9licitera donc d’autant plus volontiers Cl\u00e9ment Desalle, 4\u00e8me puis 3\u00e8me en m\u00eame temps que vainqueur au classement individuel dans la cat\u00e9gorie Open ainsi que Steve Ramon, auteur d’une septi\u00e8me puis d’une sixi\u00e8me place. Enfin, on pouvait penser que Jeremy Van Horebeek serait un peu l\u00e9ger pour bien figurer \u00e0\u00a0 Lakewood. Cela n’a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 le cas puisqu’il se classe treizi\u00e8me\u00a0et dixi\u00e8me, jouant ainsi parfaitement son r\u00f4le de support pour le team Belgique. Autant\u00a0de raisons pour que Jo\u00ebl Smets soit satisfait de ses poulains et revienne au pays la conscience tranquille…<\/p>\n
