Jago Geerts \u00e9tait en mesure de s’imposer ce dimanche \u00e0 Saint-Jean-d’Ang\u00e9ly. Sur la spectaculaire piste pr\u00e9par\u00e9e par le MC Ang\u00e9rien pour recevoir le 7\u00e8me round du championnat MXGP, le pilote Yamaha Kemea a prouv\u00e9 qu’une premi\u00e8re victoire en GP MX2 n’est sans doute plus tr\u00e8s loin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans la premi\u00e8re manche, Jorge Prado est parti en t\u00eate et seul Jago Geerts a pu maintenir le rythme de l’Espagnol. A deux tours de la fin, il monte encore le ton et finit par le d\u00e9border par un superbe ext\u00e9rieur contre lequel le champion du monde en titre n’a rien pu faire. Geerts signait ainsi la premi\u00e8re victoire de manche en mondial MX2 de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

La journ\u00e9e \u00e9tait loin d’\u00eatre termin\u00e9e pour Geerts et Prado qui se retrouvaient \u00e0 nouveau en t\u00eate de la seconde manche plus tard dans l’apr\u00e8s-midi. Encore une fois, Prado vire en t\u00eate au bout de la ligne de droite de d\u00e9part et prend donc l’initiative. Derri\u00e8re le leader du provisoire MX2, Ben Watson occupe quelques tours la deuxi\u00e8me place avant de laisser la voie libre \u00e0 son co\u00e9quipier. Geerts semble en mesure de r\u00e9p\u00e9rer le sc\u00e9nario de la premi\u00e8re manche et de combler le petit \u00e9cart qui le s\u00e9pare de Prado. Mais une petite faute viendra mettre fin \u00e0 ses plans.<\/p>\n

Il n’emp\u00eache que, avec une victoire et une deuxi\u00e8me place, Geerts signe son meilleur r\u00e9sultat en GP et termine le week-end fran\u00e7ais avec 47 points, soit un score identique \u00e0 Prado qui ne s’impose qu’au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice de la pr\u00e9pond\u00e9rance de la seconde manche. On n’est pas pass\u00e9 loin de la premi\u00e8re marche du podium dans le clan Yamaha Kemea ! Ce n’est sans doute d’ailleurs que partie remise.<\/p>\n

Derri\u00e8re Geerts et Prado, c’est Thomas Kjer Olsen qui, avec une 3\u00e8me puis une 5\u00e8me places dans les manches, monte sur la 3\u00e8me marche du podium. Le Danois laisse cependant encore s’\u00e9chapper quelques points en faveur de Prado qui m\u00e8ne le provisoire \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent avec 14 points de plus que l’officiel Husqvarna. Geerts profite de la contre-performance de Jacobi (8+17) pour s’installer au 3\u00e8me rang, \u00e0 80 points de Prado. A nouveau excellent 4\u00e8me en France, Mitch Evans occupe la 5\u00e8me place du provisoire derri\u00e8re l’Allemand.<\/p>\n
