Domination étrangère à Wuustwezel

La 45ème édition du motocross international de Wuustwezel, disputée ce dimanche, n’a pas permis à Kevin Strijbos de glaner un nouveau succès devant son public. Vainqueur de la première manche devant Simpson, Guarneri et Ferris, l’officiel Suzuki avait pourtant mis toutes les chances de son côté. Mais c’était sans compter sur une blessure au pouce qui contraignait notre compatriote à prendre la décision de ne pas prendre le départ de la seconde manche.

Le favori écarté de la course à la victoire, Dean Ferris et Shaun Simpson se sont chargés d’assurer le spectacle en se disputant la victoire dans la deuxième manche de la journée. Si le pilote Husqvarna l’emporte finalement, Shaun Simpson s’offre la victoire au classement général grâce à ses deux deuxièmes places. Il devance Ferris et Guarneri, 3ème à deux reprises. Les premiers Belges échouent au pied du podium, Yentel Martens, Jérémy Delincé, Nick Triest et Marvin Van Daele terminant devant le malchanceux Kevin Strijbos et Kristof Salaets.

Du beau monde également en MX2 où Jeffrey Herlings a fait la loi. Le Hollandais remporte les deux manches devant son coéquipier Pauls Jonass (3+4) tandis que Roberts Justs profite de l’abandon en première manche de Damon Graulus (0+3) pour monter sur la 3ème marche du podium.

Chez les Espoirs, on notera le double succès de Jago Geerts devant Benjamin Doneux et Jimmy Piront tandis que les pilotes KTM Conrad Mewse et Josiah Natzke ont dominé le classement chez les Nationaux 125cc.
